The house is very private and surrounded by a variety of tropical fruit trees: lychee, rambutan, mangosteen, avocado, mango, breadfruit, jackfruit, durian, coconut, and banana. Relax on your decks and watch the birds in the trees or ships that pass by on the ocean.

This lush orchard hideaway sits behind the tiny hamlet of Wailea on the beautiful Hamakua coast on the Big Island of Hawaii. It is located approximately 13 miles north of Hilo, 15 miles from the Hilo airport. You can take a short walk or drive to Kolekole Beach Park in one direction and the beautiful Hakalau Bay (swimming and body boarding) in the other direction. A 5 minute drive gets you to the charming little town of Honomu for restaurants and unique shopping. A short distance above Honomu is Akaka Falls State Park with the highest waterfall in the state.

A uniqe spot to relax while touring the east side of the Big Island from Waimea to Volcano and the attractions of the Puna district.  The rugged coast line and the multitude of water falls and rivers is awe inspiring.  The hot sunny sandy beaches of the Kona coast are about 90 minutes away.  Hakalau is a rain forest environment.  Extreamely lush with a moderate temperature.
