Tranqui-La is an architectural masterpiece reminiscent of the style of Frank Lloyd Wright. This dramatic property is located at the end of a private cul-de-sac, and overlooks all of Santa Barbara. The home was designed on 3 separate levels so all major living spaces face breathtaking views of the city, harbor and coastline beyond.
A sense of peace will welcome you on entering this special property. Immediately, the ocean and city views draw you out to the cantilevered balcony - the signature element of this exceptional home. Here is where you will want to spend much of your time while vacationing in this homey resort.
The bright living room has a wall of sliding glass doors that extends the living space onto the flagstone balcony. The massive sandstone fireplace and hearth is the anchor of the main-floor great room. The soaring and multiple angled ceilings with restrained oak beams give the rooms a clean and contemporary feeling. Inside the antique Tansu hutch is a stereo operating system that controls speakers throughout the home. The living room, dining room, family room and kitchen have a natural and open flow with oak and natural stone flooring throughout the main level.
The clean and beautiful lines of this state-of-the-art kitchen will impress everyone and the well designed layout and amenities will make the most exacting chef ecstatic. Soapstone counters make a wonderful work surface. Natural rift oak and graphite laminate face the sleek German cabinetry and large center island. 3 Wolf ovens, 2 Miele dishwashers, a Sub-Zero refrigerator, 2 additional refrigerator drawers, 2 prep sinks, and a separate ice machine provide an abundance of convenience. The owners have generously stocked the kitchen with cooking tools and supplies; inviting you to begin creating fabulous meals. When you look up from your chopping, the views from the kitchen are quite spectacular, too.
The family room with flat screen TV and fireplace becomes a great hang-out place. The soft leather sofa reclines, inviting guests to relax in front of the fireplace. A private patio just outside offers access to the barbeque and another outdoor dining area. A bedroom suite, with twin trundle bed, is adjacent to the family room.
The Master bedroom suite (located on the main level) is sleek, warm and inviting. It has another wood burning gas fireplace with raised hearth, and convenient reading lights are located over the king size bed. The windows and sliding doors make this room feel part of the balcony just outside and gives direct access to the spa below. Warm summer evenings here have a nice ocean breeze to cool you as you drift off to sleep. The master bath has the feeling of a spa resort with a large walk-in shower and luxurious soaking tub designed with a seamless glass corner window for ocean viewing.

A studio loft upstairs offers more spectacular views, built-in desks, a large work space, and the convenience of modern office equipment. Indoors and outdoors easily merge throughout the home, but especially once you descend the open staircase to the lower level. The common area between the two bedroom suites, with stone fireplace and refreshment bar, creates a feeling of a separate residence with privacy from the main level. The triple glass sliders open the indoor recreation area to the pool deck, and to the serenity of the infinity pool and spa. Musical instruments, games, and a large library of books, CD’s and Videos are provided for guests to enjoy.
