Carolina Beach offers miniature golf, sport fishing, evening party boats,movie theater,groc stores, drugstores, medical facilites,beach shops, boutiques,many restaurants, hardware and variety stores, bait shops. Fish from pier, surf or charter boats. During season to have water park and rides. Adjacent is Kure Beach, extra long  fishing pier, restaurants and a park. Fort Fisher Historic site and recreation area is south of Kure Beach. One of North Carolina,s largest Aquariums is at Fort Fisher. A MUST TO SEE. At the farthest point south is the Fort Fisher Ferry and public boat launch. This area is popular for windsurfing, parasailing, kiteboarding, kayaking and fishing. PLUS some of the most beautiful sunsets anywhere. Across the Cape Fear River is Southport(can be reached from the ferry) Home of the largest July 4th festival in NC, a week of activities plus many quaint stores and antiques. In Oct, the public is invited to attend the Annual King Mackerel Tournament.
