This guest house is a restored grist mill, circa 1850.  It is situated on a quiet lane which runs along the edge of the Connecticut river.  This is a 70 acre Christmas tree farm in a valley between the river and the Skitchewaug mountain and is just 2.5 miles from Exit 7 on Interstate 91.

The Grist Mill is the place for the perfect family vacation, quiet, safe but convenient to everything--activities, shopping and restaurants.

Spring, summer and fall foliage season, you will enjoy swimming, boating, hiking, fishing, walking, cycling, golf, tennis, bird watching, our pond, miniature golf, antiquing, museums, adventure parks, farmer's markets, flea markets, the Weston theater, Lebanon and Claremont Opera Houses and many other performing arts venues as well as local fairs and festivals.

In winter many of the above are still appealing but the main draw is the downhill skiing, snowboarding, XC skiing, snowmobiling and ice skating nearby.  There are 8 ski areas within 20 to 60 minutes of the house.

The house is located near some of New England's loveliest towns featured in films, magazines and newspapers. The farm and buildings have been featured in the AAA guide to New England, in other magazines and newspapers and has also appeared in many calendars due to its beauty and architectural interest.

Small pets are welcome, but there is a $50.00 special cleaning fee..

For the comfort of our future guests, we do not permit smoking in this facility.

In the photos below you will see some of the features.

The Grist Mill looks out through the orchard to the river.  It has been thoughtfully restored and is now a 3 bedroom, 3 bath house.

The beautiful Connecticut river is clean and safe--more like a lake than a river thanks to controlling dams. We invite you to have fun with our tubes, canoes, rowboat and life jackets.

For those who prefer it, there is a lovely inground pool.

The comfortable great room features exposed beams and wide plank floors.  You will enjoy the CD, DVD, satellite TV and gas fireplace.

Family dining is easy inside and out.  The kitchen is fully equipped and also has a dishwasher and European style washer and dryer. The dining table seats 8.  French doors lead to a small deck with steps down to the stone terrace.

The Mill features a 3 story open staircase, wide board floors and hand carved beams throughout.  The furnishings are comfortable and include country antiques.

You will enjoy cooking and eating outside on your terrace as well as just lounging around the firepit.  The outdoor shower is nearby.  The children's playground with swings and slide, playhouse, picnic table and campfire is in sight.  Mowed roads lead out to the pond.

The large master bedroom has a queen bed and its own bathroom.  The views from all of the bedrooms are amazing. The second bedroom has a double bed, the third has twin beds, and the playroom has a double sleep sofa.  There is a full bath on the first floor and a hall bath on the second for a total of 3 full baths.
