This is not on a resort its located on a point with only 3 other cottages all privatly owned, access through a gated privite drive   (I KEEP IT SPOTLESS). It Features new 24x18 great room with gas fireplace and vaulted ceiling on a completely remodeled get away. Fantastic 800 s.f. deck with jetted hot tub overlooking 3.5 acres of serene wilderness with large fire pit at the lake  .  Escape from the noise to this quiet, hidden and extremely private property on Hamlin Lake or enjoy the peaceful community of downtown Ludington only 10 minutes away! Sleeping Arrangements include: Bedroom 1 has bunk beds and a twin, Bedroom 2 has a full size bed and the living room 24x18  has a futon and 2 full couches.The lake is 12 miles long with miles of sand dunes accessible by boat with miles of hiking trails in the Manistee National Forest and Ludington State Park. Excellent fishing and all water sports

Not what it looks like

This cabin was advertised with a hot tub, the hot tub never worked the whole week we were there. The lake area was covered with Geese and Duck feases every day and we could not let our children play there. The path to the water area was steep and dangerous and had very little lighting at night. The lake was so weedy and stumpy that we could not dock our boat or jet skis at the cabin. There were no trash cans outside of the cabin to keep the racoons out of the trash, the cabin smelled musty and there was only one fan so we all had to sleep in the living room in order to share the fan as it was stiffling hot in the cabin.

Recommended for: age 55+

Owners response: This "guest's" review is far from the truth. The guest did not even stay at the cottage. He has a trailer near by and this was for his overflow of guests,which he did not tell me until the day before arrival that he was not staying at the cottage even though he signed the agreement, breach of agreement. Also, after the guests vacated the cottage I went to check out the condition before the security deposit was to be refunded and was appalled at the condition the cottage was left in. I have never had a guest who left the property in the condition I found it in. I found garbage, beer cans and dirty diapers left in and out of the property. A large pile of dirty towels in the bath room some wrapped around more dirty diapers. A washer and dryer is provided for every guest's use but apparently they did not find it necessary to use. In regards to the jet tub, when I was notified that it was not working I had a repair man out immediately to rectify the problem. He only found air in the lines but while he had the control panel open, a child who was staying or visiting the cottage spilled pop onto the control panel. The repair man then informed me that the unit could not be ran until it is dried out and he would be back the following week to check it out so the unit could not be ran. I have never had a problem with the jet tub prior to this guest's stay. As for the lake access, there is an asphalt drive that leads directly to the lake. If necessary,I can supply many recommendations from guests who have stayed at the cottage and loved everything about it.

Wonderful cozy getaway with amazing views & hottub

My husband and I and our two dogs spent an extended weekend in this lovely 2-BR, 1BA cottage on Hamlin Lake in Ludington. It is a very well-maintained, clean cabin with plenty of amenities, an expansive deck overlooking the lake, and a nice backyard right on the lake with a cool firepit for late night campfires. Beautiful white swans grace the lakeside in back. I think a family of 5-7 would be very comfortable in this place. We appreciated the great room in the cottage, which afforded interesting views during a lightning thunderstorm, as well as the various amenities which help make the stay enjoyable and convenient. And you can't beat the hot tub on the deck overlooking the lake! So relaxing and perfect on starry nights. Although there are a couple of neighbors nearby, it is very quiet. It is a beautiful drive up the road to the cottage, too. I'd imagine in the fall, it is shockingly beautiful with the colorful leaves.

The owners are very friendly, open, and helpful people - highly trustworthy and very interested in making sure you enjoy your stay. I can't say enough good things about Dave - he is great. Thanks again for letting us stay in your cottage!

Recommended for: age 55+, families with young children, people with disabilities, families with teenagers, girls getaway, pet-friendly, sight seeing, romantic getaway
