“#The Best Small Town in Florida”(“# 12th in the Nation”)
“100 Best Art Towns in America”
“The Treasure Coast”
“Gateway to the Tropics”

Beaches:
A wide variety of wonderful beaches – 26 miles worth - parks and lagoons are just across the bridge over the inland waterway (about 4 miles away) on Orchid Island and leading all the way north to Sebastian and south to Ft. Pierce.
Please let's not forget that Vero's beaches comprise the "Treasure Coast" so called because of the large number of Spanish galleons loaded with treasure that sank off her coast. As a result treasure washes up on the beach after large storms - the ultimate in beachcombing. Treasures collected over the years from beachcombing and diving trips are preserved in the local Mel Fisher museum inSebastian.
Boating:
Within Grand Harbor is a Marina that can accommodate vessels of up to 75 feet in length. Boat slips are available with dock space capable of handling 120' yachts.
For those who do not have their own boats there are a number of places to rent boats of all sizes from kayaks to yachts as well as to hire captained vessels.
Because of the numbers of inlets and estuaries in Grand Harbor leading out to the inland waterway, you will always see kayaks and small fishing boats coming in and out of the harbor. If if you don’t want to join them, it is always fun to watch the activity.
Cape Canaveral - Kennedy Space Center:
Located about an hour north.
Daytona Speedway:
Located about 1 1/2 hrs. north
Disney:
90 minutes to Walt Disney World, Seaworld, Universal Studios and other Orlando attractions. In addition, there is a Vero Beach Disney resort about 10 minutes north on the Barrier Island that has children's camp type activities during the day and Disney characters strolling through their restaurants. It is a family hotel resort.
Fishing:
This is a fisherman’s paradise. This is an area that is famous for its inlets of Sebastian and Fort Pierce and just plain fishing in general. Even if you are new to fishing, you can fish right off the boardwalk in front of the condo or on several of the nearby bridges where canals lead from the inland waterway to the harbor. I even caught some! Just outside of the harbor – in 4 feet of water – you can catch a boatload full of fish of every variety in just a couple of hours. There are
marina’s close by where you can rent supplies.
Golf:
There are about 20 golf courses in the Vero area including a number of outstanding public courses including the famed PGA courses about an hour south.
Night Life:
Most people are too tired from golf, the beach or boating to do anything but sleep. However, there is an outstanding theatre and an acclaimed lecture series throughout the season for those who are more culturally inclined. There is an “under the bridge” bar scene of sorts for the younger set. There is also Captain Hiram's in Sebastian( just north of us) that is always "hopping" with a Key West flair. Fort Pierce (just south) and Melbourne ( about an hour north) have name
entertainment.
Shopping:
All kinds of shopping are available in every direction as you leave Grand Harbor within 2 – 4 miles. There are great little boutiques near the beach – and towards Johns Island that are quite elegant and expensive. For more basic fare there are plenty of grocery stores on the mainland just at the bridge and you travel out towards the main highway there is every possible kind of “big box” store and mall. Let’s not forget the antique stores in the historic section of old Vero’s main downtown center.
Restaurants:
Numerous excellent restaurants are close by from fine dining to fish shacks but
there are plenty to choose from. The are a lot of fun because of the local “color”, myths and history not to mention the fresh seafood.
