Welcome to Sanibel Island and Ocean's Reach!
Sanibel Island was named among "the world's best islands" by National Geographic Traveler. Numerous other leading magazines including Life, Islands, Family Fun and Conde Nast Traveler have rated Sanibel in their top 10 lists as: one of America's best beaches, most romantic place, perfect island getaway, and, as a top island destination for families and couples. Beach lovers and shell collectors take note, Sanibel is also known for its beautiful and pristine beaches and is considered one of the best shelling beaches in the world.
As a barrier island sanctuary, 67% of Sanibel Island is protected by the federal and municipal government or private ownership. It is home to the J.N. Ding Darling Wildlife Refuge, a unique island wildlife sanctuary and world famous as a bird watcher's mecca, world class golf, 26 miles of bike paths and the Bailey Matthews Shell Museum.
Ocean's Reach is a secluded, private island retreat known for its warm Gulf Coast breezes, picturesque sunsets and its desirable location on one of the world's best shelling beaches. The 64 one and two bedroom resort complex can be found at the midpoint of Sanibel Island at the end of a palm tree-lined road and boasts spectacular views of the Gulf of Mexico. In keeping with Sanibel's protection of its wildlife and land conservation, Ocean's Reach was proudly designated as Sanibel' first Green Lodging property, a title only given to hotels, motels, resorts and lodging properties who meet strict environmental and conservation guidelines. What does this mean to a visitor at Ocean's Reach? Our environmental friendly operations include: recycling, water and energy conservation, and the use of non-toxic cleaning supplies to name a few.
In January 2006, Ocean's Reach was proud to complete a $12 million renovation offering vacationers the latest resort amenities including: tennis courts, heated gulf front swimming pool, high speed wireless internet access, bike rentals, shuffleboard and a newly landscaped picnic/barbeque grill area all in a lush tropical setting.
As travelers of the world, and with one of us in the hotel business, we have furnished and decorated our home in a style just as we would expect on an island vacation. Our newly renovated two bedroom oceanfront suite, 3A2, comfortably sleeps six and offers a luxurious yet comfortable decor for any traveler. With Tuscan tile floors, granite counter tops in the kitchen and bath and a gourmet kitchen including stainless steel appliances, new cookware and dinnerware, 3A2 contains all that one would expect in an ideal vacation condominium.
Our entire unit has been newly painted and tastefully furnished in the fall of 2009 to provide you with the utmost comfort. The master bedroom is designed with a tropical island feel including Ralph Lauren's vibrant Isle Capri bedding while the second bedroom is decorated in a fun blue and lime green beach and seashell motif. Our living room, master bedroom and screened lanai offer breathtaking views of the blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico. We have always enjoyed the evening sound of the surf and we're sure you will too. Our two children have helped us keep our younger guests in mind and have guided us in stocking our island home with games and beach toys for everyone's pleasure.
It is our sincere belief that our paradise home will provide you with rest, relaxation and will put you in an "island state of mind".
