This house is HUGE - much bigger than photos show. It was clean and very well appointed. (Fantastic library, games and especially videos/toys for our young girls.) I have never stayed with more cooperative and responsive owners. I was new to renting and showed up with 5 (FIVE) guinea pigs and our put-together cages. Did not even think about it as 'pets'. Silly me. Anyway - not only was the home more than we expected in comfort, cleanliness and spaciousness - the owner was very gracious about my mistaken 'extra' guests. (Guinea pigs are very messy - we had been surprised when one had had babies and I could not leave them behind. The owners did not charge us extra cleaning fees - but cleaned up after us and returned the home to it's pet/allergy free condition when we left.)

Absolutely lovely, with beautiful back yard for play and front yard with flowers, it was entirely relaxing and restful. We were a small family of 4 at the time - but the set up would have made it easy for us to include our parents with their own private quarters.

By the way - the neighborhood is perfect for bike riding, beach loving families.

If I had to find something to detract - it would be difficult. Given my own inexperience with renting - I did not bring appropriate linens - again, our hostess was most gracious in accommodating us.

Recommended for: families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway

Green Hill Summer Rental

I have rented beach houses in Rhode Island 6 times and never have I been at one so dirty & unkept. The house was dirty and infested with ants. When I tried to vacuum the vacuum didn't work (smelled like burnt rubber). The outlets didn't work, the TV & cable didn't work (my husband had to fix the wiring & move the TV to a different outlet because the outlet "didn't work") The faucets all leaked. I had to changed light bulbs because the majority were burnt out. The smoke & carbon monoxide detectors were all open & had all the batteries taken out (like there must have been a fire or smoke recently). The microwave didn't work correctly. The windows didn't shut. The master bedroom/bath is on the 3rd floor and is as hot as a sauna! Finally to top it all off they said they had no cleaning service and that I had to clean floors, bathrooms, kitchen, empty garbage cans, vacuum & sweep. I did as much as I could considering the vacuum didn't work. When I went back to return the beach pass there were cleaning ladies there!! I expect much more for what they charged. I have rented in Vail, Aspen/Snowmass, RI, Outerbanks, Bahamas, Turks & Caicos, etc, etc. and this was my biggest disappointment. I am OK with the house being small or not that nice, but I am not OK with it being DIRTY & UNKEPT. PS You might want to hire a new cleaning service!
