Mountain Retreat - Treetops Cabin in Lake Lure

Come for the fall colors! Treetops Cabin is located on a mountain in Lake Lure, one of the most beautiful areas in North Carolina, in the foot hills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. During the autumn months the colors are spectacular! The cabin is nestled on a 3-acre wooded lot of hardwood forest, most of the trees surpassing 60+ feet in height, offering a beautiful display of amazing fall colors.

The casual atmosphere is ideal for family vacations, or for a romantic retreat. Sit on the covered back porch and enjoy the beautiful sunsets or in front of the stone fireplace in front of a cozy fire. The great room with high ceilings and plenty of windows allows you to enjoy the outdoor views. The wrap around porch provides seating areas on all sides of the house. The back covered porch is an extension of the living area, with dining table & chairs, bench, rocking chairs and gas grill.

For those interested in Astronomy, the night skies offer clear views of the Milky Way, and the sky lights up with millions of stars, mostly not visible in urban areas. Deer can be seen on the property at dusk, more frequently in the cold months. They also are seen on the roads inside the gated community.

The cabin is outfitted with AC/Heat, fireplace, gas grill, washer, dryer, iron, flat screen TV, Dish Network, phone, fax machine and HP printer. With two bedrooms (one queen bed in master and two full beds in the 2nd bedroom, and a queen sofa bed ) the cabin sleeps 6 comfortably. Kitchen is equipped with refrigerator, stove, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, mixer, and all necessary kitchen equipment, cooking utensils, dishes, linens, place mats, and flatware to make your stay very enjoyable. All linens, towels, and hair dryer are also provided.

Located in the Riverbend gated community you will have access to a private beach where you can enjoy swimming, picnicking or canoeing. There are private picnic areas along the Broad River which passes through the gated community, and a waterfall. Fishing is available at the private lake (Mirror Lake) and along the Broad River.

Gem mining, tubeing, and horseback riding are available within 5 miles. You are minutes away from Chimney Rock and Lake Lure where you can enjoy gourmet dinners at several restaurants or casual dining featuring home cooking, barbeque, Mexican food, etc. Boating, canoeing, and the Lake Lure beach are also nearby.

Boat rentals are available in Lake Lure at Dam Marina, only a few miles away on Highway 74, for fishing and cruising the lake. Scenic boat rides are available 1/4 mile after Lake Lure Beach at the Lake Lure Marina.

The cabin is located 30 miles from Asheville, the Blue Ridge Parkway and Biltomore Estate, and less than 20 miles from historic Hendersonville, Flat Rock, Carl Sandburg's home, and historic Saluda. A few miles beyond Hendersonville you can visit the Cradle of Forestry, Sliding Rock, and Mount Pisgah. The restaurant at Mt. Pisgah offers gourmet food with a spectacular view of the Blue Ridge Mountain range.

Take Highway 9 and visit Black Mountain's quaint downtown area with antique shops, local pottery, and dining. Visit the Children's Museum in Rutherfordton.

Less than 1 ½ hours away you can visit Beech Mountain, Grandfather Mountain, Little Switzerland.and Sugar Mountain.
