Abbot Kinney, the man who built Venice(and also built and lived at 15 Rose) has a street named after him, with higher class of Art and Furnishings only found on Abbot Kinney, find that piece that will make them jealous.

Dogtown, the city that built skateboarding, has it's official park, open to all(as long as you're skating), if you just want to watch there's plenty of room for spectators to watch and see who the next Tony Alva, or Jay Adams is going to be.

Venice Boardwalk, one of the most visited areas in California, littered with every type of person on earth.  Artists and Performers for nearly 2 miles, one of kind only scratches the surfaces of the beautiful California rarity.  Always fun and free to simply walk the boardwalk and just see what happens.

Third Street Promenade, the center of all that shops, with stores, street performers, restaurants, bars, movie theaters, a full day can be had in this open air market.

Farmer's Markets are available in Santa Monica on wed and sun, allowing access to some of the finest and freshest produce in CA, and usually about the same price as the stores.

Anything and everything you could possibly think of is in walking distance, and bikes are available for rental at the 15 Rose front desk if you'd like to go a little farther or a little quicker.  The nearest Metro is two blocks east, and can take you anywhere in the city from there.
