vacation rental description

Inspired by Montana architecture, with rustic stone and log detailing, Sundance at Fern Mountain offers a peaceful and serene mountaintop setting surrounded by forest, and overlooking neighboring horse ranch and pond.  Combined with meticulously decorated interiors for ultimate comfort, this home sets itself apart from others.

4,000 SF of fully livable space includes media and game rooms with a 52" TV with Blue Ray Surround Sound, game table and other popular fun activities.  Sundance was designed for family gatherings and corporate retreats.  Sleeps up to 18 comfortably.

Outdoor entertaining beckons with a large covered deck, hand laid flagstone patio, outdoor fireplace, gas grill and fire-pit for roasting marshmallows and telling stories by the campfire.

Granite countertops, upscale appliances and furnishings, spacious mud/gear room, fine linens and towels, and attention to detail all add to this home's comfort, but it will be the times spent here with family and friends that will make it truly memorable.

Sundance offers close proximity to resorts, a true convenience, but without the noise and traffic.  Located in the heart of the Laurel Highlands and Forbes State Forest, a host of recreational pursuits await you from downhill skiing and snowmobiling to fishing in high mountain lakes and white water rafting.

If you're looking to capture the essence of the mountains, the spirit of the outdoors ... and quality time with family and friends, look no further.

Completed in September 2009,  Sundance at Fern Mountain is owned by U.S. Recreational Properties and has multiple offerings:  one time rentals, Cabin Club (multiple date rentals at a discounted rate)

If you would like to build your own private luxury log retreat, USREC is a preferred builder for Southland Log Homes in western PA.

Amazing House - Terrible Accessibility in Winter

Review submitted: January 29, 2014   Date of arrival: January 24, 2014

The house is the most amazing place you'll ever stay, as long as you can get there. Fern Mountain Road was not plowed before my group's visit, and most our cars were unable to make it up the hill to get to the cabin due to the packed-down snow. If traveling here in winter months, make sure you have snow tires and you call the property manager to ask to get the road plowed before your arrival. I would note that the property manager was very helpful in getting the road plowed, but that being more proactive could have eliminated the issue entirely.

That's my only complaint. This house was one of the best places I've ever stayed. Everything is well maintained, the pool table is great, the kitchen is stocked with cooking utensils, pots, pans, and spices, and there's a television in almost every room. This house is a rare instance of the amazing pictures not doing the house justice.

Yearly Siblings reunion( bernard family)

Review submitted: September 28, 2013   Date of arrival: September 20, 2013

My siblings and I enjoyed our family reunion at your home and had a great time. We did have a few problems with the microwave not working all weekend and the first room on right had shower hand not working properly and difficult when showering. Our propane went out when we woke up tue. morning and no one could shower before we left. They did arrive as we were leaving. Just mentioned microwave & shower so you can get fixed. About six or more ceiling lights were out also ( fyo).Dinner was great at the Out of fire Cafe and sorry forgot to mention we were told by you Sheri. Our stay was great and we loved the out door fire pit which we put to good use. Thanks again, Margie Davies
