Restoration Oaks Vacation/Retreat House recently underwent an in-depth remodel, making it a beautiful choice for small to medium sized groups looking for comfort, convenience, and modern amenities—all in a natural, rustic setting.
The Retreat House and adjoining Cookhouse (an additional cabin-like lounge for playing games or just hanging out) are located directly off Highway 101, near the front of the property at Restoration Oaks Ranch—a 1,000 acre Cattle Ranch & Blueberry Farm near the Santa Ynez Valley. The ‘easy access’ location allows for quick trips into Buellton, where you’ll find a large Albertson's Supermarket, CVS Pharmacy, Espresso Shops, Blockbuster Video, Gas Stations, and more. You can also dine at one of the famous restaurants that are located there, or visit a few of Buellton's local wineries. Five minutes beyond Buellton, is the Danish Town of Solvang. Keep driving for a few more minutes, and you'll see the Chumash Casino and the towns of Los Olivos, Ballard, and Santa Ynez. with their old west style appeal. Wineries abound in this area. We can recommend a great Wine Tour company that will give you back country tours of the area and, of course, wine tasting, wine tasting, and more wine tasting! Lake Cachuma with fishing and boat rentals is just minutes past Solvang, and several State beaches are only 10–15 minutes away.
The seemingly endless cattle trails and numerous dirt roads on the property, can be used for hiking, mountain biking, (several bikes are available) jogging, and walking. The Ranch is made up of rolling hills, mountains, canyons, and valleys, covered with grasses, oaks, sycamores and native California vegetation. (NOTE: For general safety, we strongly suggest always exploring in pairs or small groups.)
Wireless broadband Internet, iPod ready sound system, Wii Gaming Console, and a Kawai piano, are a few of the extra touches that make the Retreat House at Restoration Oaks an enjoyable place for family get-togethers, small retreats, or for your next vacation getaway. There’s even a 3/4 sized revolving, three-way game table in the Cookhouse that changes from air hockey to ping pong to a pool table.
And for a real ‘laid back’ treat, try star gazing. The lack of city lights seem to make the stars shine brighter than many are used to, and relaxing under the night sky is easily one of the least strenuous ways to spend the last part of your day.
