Walk in the countryside to see lovely wildflowers and watch the farmers working in the fields.

Shop in the village market for local produce and fresh bread.

Go to the bar/cafe in the village for your cappucino or expresso or wine and watch the soccer matches on a large screen with the locals. 

Drive to Lake Bolsena, one of the largest volcanic lakes in Europe (about 20 minutes away by car) to rent boats, swim and sun. Here you can taste one of the most delicious gelatos of your life (in my humble opinion). Bike rentals are available, too.

Go to Montefiascone to taste outstanding regional wine and to see the former Popes' summer residence.

Visit Bagnoregio (about 20 minutes away by car) to see the eerily crumbling mountaintop enclave which was once a thriving community.  Just to walk across the bridge is visually stunning.

Visit Etruscan sites scattered throughout the whole region.

Visit Rome (about 1 hour and 20 minutes away by train) to see the Vatican, the Catacombs, the Coliseum, and the Sistine Chapel among other things

Visit Orvieto where it has a "Lord of the Rings" feel to it with its beautiful architecture. Here there is an amazing cathedral as well as many merchants' shops to browse in.

Visit Viterbo where you can go to the salt baths and just soak in what are known as healing waters or get a massage.

See Rocccalvecce at dusk when flocks of birds cover the skies and the view is so very beautiful.

Look across the valley to Celleno where a man was under house arrest in his villa there since World War II.  You can walk or take a bus to Celleno to shop, bank, or go to the beauty salon.

In the summertime, have dinner and dance in the piazza with the locals, on both Saturday and Sunday evenings. This is a wonderful tradition that has been going on for generations here in Roccalvecce.
