Tastefully decorated and superbly located, this 1 bedroom condo (Unit 2) is the perfect place for those guests wishing to be in the heart of Savannah's Landmark Historic District. On beautiful Oglethorpe Square, Unit 2 shares the square with her famous neighbors: The Owen's Thomas House (part of the Telfair Museum) and the "old Red Cross Building" now part of The Savannah College of Art and Design's (SCAD) campus.
We selected Unit 2 specifically for her location and charm. At the corner of Abercorn and State Streets, Unit 2 is on the first floor of The Graham; circa 1924. Built by Mrs. Graham, the building originally served as temporary housing for women immigrating to the US from England. Mrs. Graham's family coat of arms remains in the transom above the front door.
Unit 2 has been tastefully decorated and features 1 queen size bed, queen sleeper sofa and will sleep up to 4. Fully equipped kitchen (renovated 2007), full bath with original tub (resurfaced 2009). Please see our amenties listed below.
Savannah's mix of her 300 year old history and 21st Century southern charm is right outside the front door. You won't need a car. Walk to all Savannah has to offer, The Lucas Theater, Leopold's Ice Cream Parlor, Shopping on Broughton, River Street, City Market, Paula Deen's Lady & Son's Restaurant, Telfair Museum of Art, The Jepson Center and of course the fabulous eateries. Don't forget to take in the architectural variety such the Catherdral of St. John the Baptist with its twin spires and Gothic features, the Greek Revival Christ Espiscopal Church, home to a rare Revere Bell and Temple Mickve Israel, the only Gothic synagogue in the USA. ALL OF THIS RIGHT OUTSIDE YOUR DOOR!
If you desire a day at the beach, Tybee Island is a short cab ride or drive away. On the fringes of the city, just minutes by car, you can visit Fort Pulaski, Old Fort Jackson, Bonaventure Cemetery, the Tybee Lighthouse, and the moss-draped oaks of Wormsloe Hitoric Site. For the aviation buff ~ The Mighty Eighth Air Force Museum in Pooler is highly recommended. Golfers will find it difficult to choose among the multitude of superb golf courses all within 30 minutes.
Unit 2 is furnished with all bed and bath linens. Extra pillows and blankets too. Laundry facilities are in the building for your personal laundry needs however, for extended stays we will gladly make arrangements to drop off clean linens and pick up soiled ones. Please see the amenities section below for detailed information on the condo.
Unit 2 is a good fit for weekend get aways or extended stays. Families of up to 4 will enjoy the condo too. Saint Patrick's Day enthusiasts will feel the luck o' the Irish as they watch the parade pass right outside.
Our rates include hospitality tax, sales tax and housekeeping at check out.
Additional housekeeping is available at $25.00/hour with a two hour minimum.
