This was the best vacation my family has ever had! We have stayed at this place 3 times already on different occasions ( I tryed to write a review several times prior but had problems when it came to sumbiting it) Just a quick note to the prior review... We did not see 1 roach, but yes it is typicial of florida "island" life to see a few, as with an rodents which we also did not see any.) I will start my review my saying that The owner is one of the nicest most generios people that I have never actually met. All 3 times we have stayed, our only problem was that none of us wanted to LEAVE!! The location is so easy to find and the house was extremely clean and well maintained!!! and the pics just dont do the place justice.. To our surprise on the 1st stay the upstairs actually has 2 full size beds, and we also didnt kno that the downstairs bedroom has its own complete bathroom! which made it nice when I brought my parents, so they didnt have to every go up stairs!! The kitchen was glorious and had all you could ever need right down to paper plates and paper towels... When she told me that all I would need to bring is drinking and cooking water, I wasnt so sure, but when we got there, Yes thats all u need, food, and water,, everything else is provided.. ther was even charcole and laundry detergent, plenty of towels and extra bedding to last our group of 6 a full week!! This place, besides the amenities of the house, large deck and fish cleaning station, has truelly got it all.... but what i realized after the 3rd time we stayed is that the LOCATION IS PERFECT!!! its almost exactly in the middle between the springs and the gulf!! Literally if u want to experience the gulf in the am its only about 15 min one direction and if you want to go hang at the springs in the afternoon its about 15 min the opposite direction! it was PERFECT so IF U LOVE FISHING, OR SWIMMING, SCALLOPING, BOATING IN GENERAL OR JUST SOME RnR !! THIS PLACE IS THE BEST! Seriously I could go on and on and on!!The place to get ice and bait and gas is only about 5-8 minutes away and is conveniently on the way to the springs, The river itself is a delight with all the dolphins and sealife you will encounter and lots of resteraunts and pubs all up and down the river, At the rental property we caught salt- and fresh water fish, and if u like crab, bring your crab basket to put by the dock, cause the river is LOADED with them!! our group age ranged from 6 to 65yrs- Thank you for the great times!

Recommended for: adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, people with disabilities, families with teenagers, girls getaway, pet-friendly, sight seeing, tourists without a car, romantic getaway

Nice location but POOR PROPERTY MANAGEMENT!!!!!

The owner is a nice lady....with that said. Got a call the day before our arrival to "remind us" to bring water to cook with and drink. WHAT!!?? This was NEVER mentioned to us! Got there to find the window air conditioner upstairs was broken. (looked to be 20 years old and falling to pieces) Took 3 days to get fixed after many calls and complaints. NEXT we couldnt sleep because of the cockroaches crawling on the ceiling and floors. YIKES! One even flew into my husbands face while in bed. NEXT- Mouse manure in the closets, drawers and cabinets IN THE KITCHEN! The silverware was rusted due to the SALTWATER, which by the way it was MISERABLE to take a shower!!! This was a nightmare!! We left a day early just because we couldnt take it anymore. We are a military family and this was probably the last vacation before the next deployment. Could be such a beautiful place but we were so disappointed. The children had to sleep on the couch and living room floor for 3 days due to the sweltering heat upstairs. I recommend not wasting your money.
