San Sano is a small hamlet dating back to the Middle Ages, which has maintained its typical rural Tuscan architecture intact. An enchanted spot, surrounded by the vineyards and olive groves that cover the rolling hills of the Sienese countryside.

Newly restored the Relais offers its unique hospitality, a delightful refuge in the heart of Chianti country, just 15 km from Siena, an hour drive from Florence and two and a half hours from Rome.

Living the the hamlet  means strolling amidst neat rows of vines and majestic olive trees, admiring the nearby castles and looking out over the gently rolling hills that produce such fine wines.

The Hamlet offers comfortable suites furnished with splendid local craftsman-made pieces and Tuscan antiques. Every room is furnished in its own special way including historic pieces of furniture.

The village comprises four Junior Suites (one totally dedicated to wine therapy), two deluxe suites and two deluxe Double Rooms.

The rooms vary in size from house to house, reflecting their authenticity and the realities of life here in the past.

Even though you will live a historical experience living in the Hamlet the rooms are provided with every modern comfort: air condition, safe, phone line, TV, DVD. There are common rooms like the breakfast room and the kitchen for cooking classes. There is an outdoor pool (open from May through September) and relaxing outdoor spaces. The little spa in the house offers various beauty treatments and of course the famous WINE THERAPY!

The polyphenols found in grapes, along with the vitamins and trace elements, are valuable resources to combat skin ageing, because they are a powerful antidote against free radicals. Our cooking classes focus on typical Tuscan food such as homemade pasta, soup (Ribollita, Pappa al Pomodoro), Florentine steak and much more! You will personally cook every dish assisted by our Chef and take home our precious and family passed on recipes! It will be an unforgettable experience!
