The property is comprised of a newly completed main residence (the casa), a poolside guest house (the casita), a secluded beach, a hand-tiled custom pool, and a private dock. All are gracefully connected by stone patios and walkways. Both of the buildings parallel the beach, providing excellent ocean views, refreshing sea breezes, and the constant, soothing sound of the breaking surf.
Set within Mexico’s largest Caribbean nature preserve, Sian Ka’an, amid tropical gardens on one of the world’s most secluded and unspoiled beaches is CASA LUNITA, the place where luxury and privacy merge.
A self-sufficient, ecologically friendly home, generating its own electricity through wind and solar energy, Casa Lunita is the ultimate in eco-chic for the environmentally conscious vacationer.
Just step out your door and stroll down the empty white powder sand beach for miles or walk through the mangrove forest to the large dock to relax in a hammock or take a kayak out to explore the gentle waters of the lagoon, teeming with wildlife. From the rooftop sundeck of Casa Lunita, the 360 degree panoramic view of the Boca Paila peninsula will leave you awestruck and provide the perfect spot to watch sunrises and sunsets. These breath-taking vistas create a sense of the property’s location within an enchanting bio-reserve surrounded by verdant forests and bodies of water.
Just a short drive away are a wide variety of restaurants, bars and lounges, ranging from Thai cuisine to Italian and of course fantastic local fare and fresh seafood. We would be happy to recommend a few. Also available to the north are many tour companies, yoga classes, day spas and gift shops to explore and enjoy.
For the more adventurous guests, to the south lies the rest of the bio-reserve. An hour and a half drive through the park will bring you to the isolated fishing settlement of Punta Allen where restaurants and snorkeling, bird watching, and fishing tours are available.
For a day off the beach, adventures await at the Mayan ruins Tulum and Coba, the colonial city of Valladolid and the many cenotes and nature parks-- all within driving distance. If shopping is your thing or you want a little time in the crowds, Playa del Carmen and Cancun are not far either. We are sure the area has a little something for everyone and all can be enjoyed from your own secluded tropical paradise at Casa Lunita.
villa rental amenities
The Yucatan Peninsula has long been, and continues to be, Mexico’s top travel destination and one of the most popular beach destinations in the world. There are many reasons for this deserved popularity such as the safety of the peninsula, the clear clean warm waters, the great visibility for snorkeling and diving, the pleasant climate and the fascinating and well-preserved Mayan historical sites. The locals are welcoming and friendly, the food is delicious, there is abundant fishing and many unique cenotes (the exposed cool clear water holes of the underground network of caves and rivers on the Yucatan Peninsula) to visit. The colorful Mexican culture and enchanting colonial cities are a delight for travelers, while large package resorts and remote pristine beach getaways tempt those interested in true relaxation. All of this and more keep people coming back year after year in larger and larger numbers.
