Christmas 2010 - One week - All went well

Apparently, we were the first to rent this unit (house) from the owner, and all went well. Eight of us, 3 adults and 5 teens, stayed for a week. Very convenient, as it is a short walk to Eagle (but Eagle can be crowded, so get out early, or late) - also, lift tickets available at Juniper Springs front desk - can be a real time saver). No problem with check-in (keys), Two cars fit in garage, where we stored skis/boards. Spa works fine, ok for four people, water can spill out and it needs to be topped-off with H2O after use. Used the outdoor grill - no issues. Snowed 3 ft, and the service to clear the driveway was prompt (we had their number). Kitchen reasonably setup with some basic condiments - we cooked several meals. The convenience of walking to the lift meant we did not have to all start out at the same time, and we actually came back to the unit for lunch on several days [was very nice not to battle the lunch crowds and proved to be very relaxing before heading back out]. Maintaining a comfortable temperature in the entire house was a bit tricky, since there is only one thermostat - but the owner pointed this out on the provided information/instructions - we kept the lower level a bit cool so the upper level did not get too hot. The biggest issue was the clothes dryer, which did not dry clothes! I expect this issue has been corrected. I am familiar with Mammoth, so it was easy to head out to the Village or other places for dinner or to grab take-out, but this unit is better for people who want to be on the slopes, it is not as convenient for apres ski. However, being so close to the base of Eagle, it is possible to stay at Canyon or the Village for apres ski, and then take the bus to Eagle. The owner was responsible and responsive, and we are responsible renters, so we had no issues and our full deposit was returned. Overall, we had a very nice week. The 20 ft of snow in the week or so before our arrival, and the 3 ft dump during our stay certainly helped make it a great week!
