activities and attractions in Cape Coral Gulf Coast South
We are close to many great shopping centers, grocery stores, restaurants from fast food to fine dining & pharmacies & Cape Coral Hospital. Cape Coral Yacht Club (public) with sugary white sandy beaches & a pier for viewing the most beautiful sunsets anywhere is only a few minutes away, they have a great public swimming pool so bring your swimsuit & enjoy, they have a Sunset Celebration the first Wednesday in every month, there's live entertainment & many vendors, a fun place to be, & did I mention the unbelievable sunsets? Ft.Myers Beach & Sanibel Island on the Gulf of Mexico are a short drive from here, where you can do some serious shelling, relax on the beach, take a dip in the gulf or visit Ding Darling Nature Drive-thru, or one of the many restaurants for refreshments or a tasty meal. We have movie theaters, water activities, fishing (the fishingist bridge in the world) at Matlacha is only minutes away from here & the Bay area there is quite lovely, plus lots of art as well as artsy shops to browse in,you will find this on Pine Island. There are numerous public golf courses within a few miles & sooo many wonderful activities to indulge in. If you enjoy nature, we have parks here in Cape Coral where you can go kayaking or stroll thru the park & enjoy whatever Mother Nature has to offer. If you're into boating, a trip from Pine Island to Cayo Costa State Park is great for a day trip, you stop at Cabbage Key for lunch & continue to Cayo Costa where you can at your leisure explore the island & perhaps find some great shells, on the trip back you might see numerous birds going to roost for the evening. For those who enjoy flea markets, we have a huge one in Ft.Myers, Fleamasters, they have approximately 900 stores, plus fresh produce in the outdoor areas, lots of food places, a place where you should be able to find just about anything your heart desires. Manatee Park is another great place to visit, especially if the weather is a bit on the cool side & the water is cold as there is a power plant across the road which sends nice warm water out for the dear manatees, sometimes you can view as many as 30 in a few minutes along with an occasional calf or two, this is located in Ft.Myers, a short drive & well worth it. If you will let me know what your interests are, I will be happy to send you information pertaining to those in particular. In Ft.Myers you will also find the Edison/Ford Estates which is something everyone must see, beautiful trees, plants & the museum is unique within itself. There are just so many things to do & see I don't think you would ever become bored. If you enjoy golfing, be sure to bring your clubs as there are many beautiful courses open to the public here in Cape Coral as well as Ft.Myers.
