Vacation Rental Description

This house is really unbelievable - certainly not a typical summer 
rental.  It has only had long-term tenants previously, who have paid 
$11000 per month.  Now is is available for summer rental for the first 
time.  It is truly spectacular - very Tuscan on the outside and very 
European on the inside - wood paneled ceilings, lots of raised wall 
ornamentation and extremely high ceilings - most at least 12 feet and 
the master bedroom has a 14 foot ceiling with a direct view to the 
ocean from the master bed.  The house is constructed with two wings - 
the east wing second and third floors comprise the master suite, with 
office (with fireplace), master bedroom (with plasma screen), large 
walk-in closets, complete Herbeau bathroom - truly luxurious, a second 
floor balcony with fireplace and a third floor roof-top balcony (with 
refrigerator and sterio music) large enough to entertain a dozen with 
forever views of the Newport Harbor, Peninsula overlooking the 
"Wedge", and yachts sailing out to sea.   
 
The West wing includes a large common area on the second floor with 20 
foot ceilings and a library of novels reaching 12 feet up a bookcase. 
 The second-floor bedroom is luxuriously furnished, including a 
queen-size bed and private bath with spa-tub (Herbeau fixtures) and 
travertine and French limestone.  The third floor bedroom is also 
furnished with a queen bed, has a very high-end private bathroom and a 
balcony from which there is a great view of the harbor.  On the second 
floor level there is a two-level balcony with fireplace that would 
serve well for nighttime entertainment (includes stereo speakers) in 
the cool ocean breeze for the occupants of this wing.  One can well 
picture the kids and their friends living in this wing exclusively, 
while parents stay in the east wing master suite and first floor 
library bedroom. 
 
The first floor includes a bedroom with double bed, which also serves 
as a media room - with large plasma screen built-into the wall and 
sound-surround speakers built in.  There is a large collection of 
DVD's and VHS tapes stored in cabinets. The walls are specially built 
with sound-absorbing panels so that the sound is as precise as 
possible to the intentions of the music or movie producers.  There is 
a full private bathroom with spa-tub (and Herbeau fixtures).  This 
room also serves as the main library, and is stocked with a fine 
collection of leather-bound classics and rare editions of early 
twentieth-century novels.  These books are there for your enjoyment 
and will satisfy any bibliophile or just avid reader for the duration 
of your stay.   
 
Also on the first floor is a half-bath (with 12 foot ceiling) and 
extremely upscale built-ins.  There is a wine-cellar for your use, 
modern high-end washer/dryer.  The entrance is indeed grand, with huge 
curved staircase ascending to the second floor, arcing around an 8 
foot chandelier suspended from the 25 foot dome.  There is a formal 
dining area seating 4-6, a lovely sitting area nearby and a truly 
amazing kitchen with family area with seating for 4 more for meals.  
The family area has a wall-mounted plasma screen that can either be 
viewed from the kitchen or from a viewing area with two couches.  The 
appliances are Sub-Zero and Viking and the kitchen is fully stocked 
with valuable flatware (silverware is available for additional 
deposit), chef-quality pots and pans, fine china and stemware. 
 
This home can be your "home-away-from-home", no matter what home you 
have.  If you enjoy the finer things in life then this is the place 
for you.  This isn't a summer rental like you will find in Newport 
Beach, where its "party central" for block after block.  In Corona del 
Mar, the town is peaceful, quiet and one of the most lovely villages 
on the west coast.  There are very few summer rentals in Corona del 
Mar, because most of the homes are split into two condo units and the 
CC and R's require a minimum of one month rent throughout the town.  
This is a single home and, as such, is almost never found in this 
town, especially with such ambiance and furnished so well.

Vacation Rental Amenities

Four bedrooms with four and one half luxury baths.  Everything is 
furnished for wealthy home-owners - furniture, linens, draperies, etc. 
 Every bath has a spa-tub and Herbeau fixtures, truly european 
finishes throughout.  Adult living areas and a "family wing" make this 
the perfect home for letting the kids set up housekeeping out of your 
earshot, and they will have plenty to do in their area, let alone with 
the beaches so close.  Books and movies abound - for those seeking 
home-entertainment.  There are thousands of songs already stored on 
the memory of the whole-house stereo system, which plays in bedroom 
areas, and balconies.  The kitchen is truly for the gourmet cook - or 
the gourmet eater.  The counters are all French limestone, thick and 
heavily molded, reminiscent of an ancient european estate.  There are 
two separate air-conditioning systems if the weather gets a little too 
warm.  It is impossible to say too much about this magnificent home.

Activities and Attractions

From this home, walk past six houses and you are at ocean boulevard 
where some steps will take you to one beach perfect for kids where the 
harbor waves are small.  A little farther and you can enjoy Lookout 
Point, overlooking the entrance to the Newport Harbor, or China Cove 
beach, or Big Corona Beach, one of the most popular on the coast.  A 
few minutes drive from the home is Balboa Island and you can take the 
auto ferry from here to Balboa Penninsula for the main Newport Beach 
and pier.  One of the most exclusive shopping areas in the world is 
Fashion Island, also minutes away.  In the harbor you can take boats 
for fishing, diving tours at Catalina, or any number of other water 
craft.

Vacation Rental Rates

For the high-summer season, from June through mid September the rates 
are $7500 per week, or $25000 per month, with $8000 for the week 
including July 4th.  The damage  
deposit for this property is $10000.  For rental less than one month 
the city requires 
a 10% surcharge.  There is a 50% deposit to hold your 
time during the summer, the balance is to be paid no less than two 
weeks before the lease period starts.  I will send you a contract when 
you are ready and you can return it with your deposit, but the first 
contract that I receive covering a particular period will have 
priority.  Since this property has only now become available, those 
who didn't plan a year ahead will still have a chance - if you move 
quickly.
