activities and attractions in Smith River North Coast
The clear blue waters of the Smith River have garnered national attention, and its designation of both Wild and Scenic and a National Recreation Area just hint at the unmitigated beauty flowing through the backyard of this home. A log swing and outdoor barbeque in the back yard overlooks the river.
Fish from the shore, kayak along the river, hike through the nearby redwood groves, view the local elk and deer, play on the beach and in the ocean, tour the local lighthouse, see the nearby lily fields, and much more. Just a few miles to the north, you can shop and enjoy the artsy flavor of Brookings, Oregon. Just a few miles south is the equally entertaining Crescent City, California. Both have wonderful restaurants, shopping, sightseeing, fishing, whale-watching, sea-lion gazing, gorgeous sunsets over the ocean, and plenty of entertainment opportunities for all ages.
The Smith River is one of the most prolific fishing rivers for Salmon and Steelhead in the Pacific northwest. Many who have stayed here have returned year after year to enjoy all that this home has to offer.
