    Perfect escape!

Review submitted: February 2, 2012   Date of arrival: February 25, 2011

We enjoyed every minute at this wonderful house. Directions were a little tricky (Would not advise following GPS,as we had quite an adventure, and limited cell service). Plenty of room for myself, husband, three sons, and their girlfriends. Took quick-fix casserole ingredients and groceries from home, and appreciated such a well-appointed kitchen. Lots of pots, pans, bowls, servingware, etc. Played games the first night, enjoyed a movie the second. But the highlight was, of coarse, the fishing! Had the time of our lives catching those beautiful trout! Came home with so many fish and memories! Raymond was so accomodating and gracious. We all enjoyed his company & advise. Loved the Home Place in Catawba for a fantastic dinner (Don't miss it!). Hoping to return this spring for another round!

Recommended for: adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers, romantic getaway

Owners response: So kind! Thanks for taking the time to share your experience. Our in house journal is full of stories like yours but your caring really matters!

Come on back! Remind us of your special review and we will include a special extra for you!

    Warmest Regards,

    Big Pine

    So Renewed

Review submitted: January 7, 2011   Date of arrival: December 2, 2010

    Hey Jimbo,

We came back from our trip to Big Pine feeling so renewed -- it was just a perfect getaway for an overworked couple! The fishing was wonderful even though we came during one of the coldest winters I can remember. It was just a great week -- we caught several 20+ inch fish; Rainbows, Goldens and Brookies -- I think wild brookies -- just beautiful!

I loved the house -- it was so comfortable and had everything you could possibly need. Cable TV, a fully outfitted kitchen and plenty of room for gear. If I didn't want to fish all day every day, I would have been happy just to kick back and relax at "home".

Raymond was there anytime we needed anything -- just a phone call away -- and really made us feel welcome. I hope you will tell him how much I appreciate his friendly assistance with everything and patient answers to all of my questions about trout farming. It's fascinating, really.

I can't wait to come back in the spring for some good dry fly fishing, and even though our trip was almost a month ago I find myself thinking about it every day and it makes me smile.

See you soon, and thanks again for having a truly beautiful place.

    All the best,
    Nancy and JP
