Beautiful B&B and a Charming Host

The views from Birdsong are fantastic. The archetypical volcano, the jungle, and flocks of parrots were constant sites. One morning we strolled down the street and found a family of spider monkeys having breakfast in the trees! Allan is a gracious host with helpful recommendations. He introduced us to Rancho Margot where we ate and also had an amazing horse back adventure. And he pointed us to Pizza John who's a wonderful character my whole family enjoyed chatting with. Can't say enough about the breakfasts that Odelee cooked for us - best of our trip. Birdsong is pretty remote so you should be looking for peace and quiet above nightlife. Thanks for a great stay Allan!

What a View and the name fits the place to a tee

First off, I want to say that Allan and Odolee (maid/cook) made the stay great. Allan was at breakfast each day (we stayed 7 days) and asked us our plans for the day to see if we needed help or suggestions. Several times he made phone calls for us to get our reservations. We just ran out of time and never got the chance to go to the waterfall on his property. By the way, look for more from us. My daughter has all the photos and 3 days after we got back she headed for USC to go to film school. When she gets back, there will be more on this place. I will say that if you are looking for peace and quit, this is the place to go. No phones or internet yet. It was really roughing it for my daughter (20)but she had tons of fun. We plan on putting up pictures when she gets back

So Close to the Volcano!

I spent a few days at Birdsong and it was a great time. The views of the volcano were breathtaking. Everday I noticed bus tours coming within a few kilometers of Birdsong with groups of tourists to view Volcan Arenal. I was so happy to be so close to the volcano and not have to waste my time being bused in from someplace else. We spent a lot of time exploring the jungle and seeing all the different wildlife, monkeys, butterflies, etc. We were very close by to the ziplines that took you through the cloud forest. Allan, who owns Birdsong was very helpful and courteous. He knew the best places to visit in the area and was an excellent host. I would highly recommend staying at this beautiful property.
