This professionally designed and decorated beach home was 3 years in the making. It was completed the fall of 2009 and is situated on the preferred Gulf of Mexico side of the island. The owners spent considerable effort to insure a comfortable vacation experience for up to 12 guests. Enjoy fabulous water views and fantastic sunsets. 14 foot vaulted ceilings, 10 foot doors, and a state of the art kitchen and dining area with wet bar comprise the main living area on the top floor. The spacious decks and oversize sliding doors meld the outdoor living spaces with the inside on all floors. 3 equal size king bed master suites and a bunk room with six beds.  All bedrooms have in suite baths.

North Captiva Island is a private residential community featuring secluded beaches and a respite from the crowds. Part of the Lee Island Coast in Southwest Florida, North Captiva's access is provided by private water charters, scheduled public ferry service, and a private airstrip. Golf carts and bikes are the only form of transportation on the island, keeping the environment pristine. The island has 5 miles of white, sandy beaches and offers outstanding shelling. ¾ of the island is an undeveloped 700 acre state land preserve - perfect for a day of hiking and exploring to turn up undiscovered treasures. The island also features fine dining, shopping and private club facilities.

Bluefin Beach House offers a private heated pool and spa for your enjoyment. The house is just steps from the beach. Enjoy jogging, shelling or just a day lounging, enjoying your favorite novel on one of Florida's most pristine and private beaches.

While staying at Bluefin Beach House you will have membership privileges at North Captiva Island Club. The Club has two heated pools, two-lighted Har-Tru tennis courts, a fitness room, basketball court, sand volleyball court and a kid's playground. Also available is a steam room, sauna and Jacuzzi. Enjoy lunch or cocktails poolside while you are at the Club.

Exploring

With the absence of motorized vehicles, kayaking, jogging and biking are very safe and enjoyable activities for all ages. Be sure to watch out for the many forms of wildlife on the island including the endangered loggerhead turtles, birds and iguanas. With over 2/3 of the island protected as a public state land, you will definitely want to plan for a day of exploring and hiking to see nature at its finest.

Golfing

Golfers can boat to the 18-hole golf course at the nearby Alden Pines Country Club. Alden Pines Country Club is a Bermuda grass semiprivate course located on Pine Island.  To play golf, you can take the ferry service to Pineland Marina and walk to Alden Pines from there.

Boating

The waters surrounding North Captiva Island in Pine Island Sound and the Gulf of Mexico offer the chance to explore some of the best of Florida's offerings.

Captain Steve 4U offers boat charters for shelling, fishing and visiting neighboring islands. Charter reservations can also be made for restaurant tours, sunset cruises, snorkeling, fishing, diving, and beach picnics. Sailing charters and sailing lessons are also available from Captain Steve.
