When you stay at the Shipp's Cabin, you will sleep to the sound of ocean waves and a gentle ocean breeze in this professionally decorated beachfront villa, conveniently located on the popular Isle of Palms Front Beach strand. Set just behind the saw grass dunes, from your balcony you'll enjoy a clear view of the surf, while experiencing a special privacy, out of view from onlooking beach crowds. Our private fishing pier was recently used as a set in the movie "Dear John".


If you don't feel like grilling out at the beach side barbecue pits, you are only a stones throw from the Banana Cabana, Huck's Lowcountry Table, Coconut Joes, the world famous Windjammer beach bar and grill and the Front Beach shopping area. This condominium complex claims the only pier on the Front Beach strand and is private for your fishing or relaxation enjoyment.

Private fishing pier for guests only. The only pier on the Isle of Palms front beach.
Smoking Allowed: Smoking allowed on balcony only.
Smoking Not Allowed: No Smoking inside the villa.
No Pets Allowed: Strictly prohibited.

Awesome Beach Vacation, Super Condo, Great Price

We stayed in this condo last summer and are coming back this year. The location is awesome, and this condo definitely offers a lot for the price and is much nicer than others we looked at in the same complex. You’re not paying for a lot of square footage but it’s a quaint little old style beach cabin that’s the perfect reprieve from the heat and a place to lay your head and rest up for more beach. We took four adults and two kids. The kids love the beach cabin bunk beds and the free video games and the adult beds were extremely comfortable with the mattress toppers provided. The adults enjoyed the big flat screen high def TV with awesome sound, all the channels and plenty of free movies. You are literally steps away from the beach sand and the balcony view of the ocean is awesome. The place has its own private pier, the only pier on the beach front; it’s beautifully lit at night and set up for fishing with pole holders and a fish cleaning station. We caught fish everyday. The complex is next door to the county park so the kids enjoyed the swings and slides, bathrooms and outdoor showers. The place is quiet and seems isolated from the other visitors because of the horseshoe shape of the buildings but walk out the front door to the street side and you are right in the middle of all the shops and restaurants you could ask for. Great vacation at a great price!

Recommended for: families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sight seeing, tourists without a car

We enjoyed our vacation @ Isle of Palms immensely. The condo was clean and close to everything. My husband especially enjoyed having access to the private pier, getting up early every morning to fish. The beach was beautiful and so clean! They city of IOP does a wonderful job of making sure that all trash is picked and the beach is patrolled on a regular basis.
We are a family of four, with 2 teenagers. To say that the condo would sleep 6 adults comfortably would be a stretch. My son, who is 6 foot, did not fit in the bunks comfortably and they are a little difficult to get in to. My son ended up sleeping on the futon. We also ran out of towels mid-week and weren't able to find someone to give us more. Luckily i had brought a large amount of beach towels from home.
On the plus side, the kitchen is well-equipped and the view of the dunes is breathtaking. Sitting on the balcony is a joy! The off street, private parking is a definite advantage since parking is a premium on the island.
We rated our vacation a 10 on a scale of 1 to 10. The Charleston/Mt Pleasant/IOP is a wonderful place to vacation with a family.

Recommended for: adventure seekers, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sight seeing
