On the Beach in South Haven

The condominium buildings are located right on the sunset coast of Lake Michigan on a wide stretch of North Beach with a view from the patio of South Haven lighthouse.  This comfortable unit has everything you need to feel at home. 

The spacious patio overlooks the lake and has access via a few steps to the sandy beach below.  It connects to the heated pool, has tables, chairs, lounges and two gas grills.  Enjoy sunsets while you relax at the end of the day.  You can walk for miles on the wide, unobstructed beach.

Winter on the Lake Michigan beach can be unusual.  Sometimes the lake is frozen to the horizon.  Bring warm clothes to walk outside.  Stores and restaurants in town are open year round and have great sales.  The small theatre is active along with the art center, maritime museum, and movie theater.  The state park 5 miles south of town is great for cross country skiing.   Enjoy the special winter and Christmas activities in town or stay inside and watch the snow fall with a little wine or hot chocolate.

Packard Park is just north of the Condo.  Stanley Johnson Park a block southeast, has a craft and an art show.  Skip cooking by trying the delicious sandwiches, drinks, ice cream, and snacks from the North Side Deli, only a block away.

The living area, dining area and kitchen are newly renovated in the open plan style.  All of the appliances are new.  We placed the microwave/fan/light over the stove for more counter space.  The furniture for the living and dining area provide comfortable seating for different activities. 

It is a fully furnished kitchen including dishes for the condo and plastic or paper ones for the patio.  There are pots and pans, kitchen tools and utensils: blender, coffee maker, toaster, microwave, and dishwasher.  All paper products and cleaning products are supplied.

Guests receive a welcome packet with map, coupons for local restaurants, South Haven activity booklet, activity calendar, and sunset times.

Coin operated laundry room is on the same floor, steps way; also bicycle storage and 1 reserved parking space.

The condo is less than a half mile walk from South Haven, where you will find interesting shops and restaurants, a movie theater, museums and an arts center and library.  A covered Farmers Market  with food, flowers and produce is held twice a week down town. The space becomes an ice rink in the winter.

Activities: Harbor Fest, 4th of July festivities, Craft Fair, Art Fair, Blueberry Festival, Festival of Cars, Maritime Museum Classic Boat Show, area wineries and golf courses.

The Kal-Haven Trail, for walking and biking, is extended into the center of South Haven.  You can go right down to the beach.  You can bike almost forty miles all the way eastward of Kalamazoo on an old railroad bed.  Bikes, canoes, paddle boards, or kayaks for the lake can be rented from a shop a block away.  You are within sight of North Beach where there is a concession stand with treats and supplies.

Try out South Haven's new state-of-the art fitness center where guests can easily obtain reasonable passes to the large hot tub, sauna, steam room, massages, fitness and spinning equipment, lap pool, fitness classes and gym.
