Vacation Rental Description

Need to get away from it all?  Come stay in our nicely decorated and  
clean 2BR/1BA cabin, nestled on over one acre of wooded land on Mary  
King Mountain, just west of Murphy off of Hwy 64 W.  Enjoy the drive  
up to our cabin through two miles of easy winding roads.  It's cool,  
cozy and comfortable -- your home away from home.  Experience the  
peace and quiet, sit and nature watch over coffee, or plan your  
activities while relaxing on the fully covered deck overlooking your  
own woods, or just sit back and enjoy sitting in front of the stone  
wood burning fireplace (firewood provided).  Kids will enjoy playing  
in the woods and observing wildlife.  There are deer, wild turkeys,  
and even a couple bears atop Mary King Mountain, as well as some farm  
animals along the way up to the cabin, and the drive itself through  
the two miles of easy winding roads is a very pretty and scenic drive. 
 
The full eat-in kitchen is equipped with all needed appliances,  
including stove, refrigerator with icemaker, dishwasher, microwave  
and toaster oven.  All dishes, pots/pans and utensils are provided.   
All you need to bring are your groceries and paper products. 
 
The first bedroom has a queen size Sealy posturepedic bed, the second  
bedroom has a full size bed, a queen La-Z-Boy Signature sleeper sofa  
is located in the living room.  All bed and bath linens/towels are  
provided. 
 
Large deck is covered and entire length of cabin with a gate that can  
be locked to keep children and/or pets from going down into the  
woods.  There is also a fenced section on the backside of the cabin  
where we would prefer your pet do its business so children can play  
in the woods without getting "that kind" of messy. 
 
Whether you plan an active, fun filled vacation or days of quiet  
relaxation, everything you need is here in the mountains of western  
North Carolina. 
 
Smoking is permitted on DECK ONLY please.  Home is pet friendly --  
dogs only.

Vacation Rental Amenities

Two satellite TV's (w/separate receivers), DVD in LR and VCR in  
second bedroom.  Washer and dryer.  Unlimited long distance  
(continental US ONLY). Stone-faced woodburning fireplace for those  
cool evenings.  Toys, books, board games, puzzles, frisbees,  
horseshoes and video library for children.  Air conditioning and  
heat.  Ceiling fans in living room and both bedrooms.  Bed and bath  
linens and towels, cookware and utensils are provided.  Blow dryer  
and curling iron provided.  Charcoal grill on deck with table and  
chairs.  Fenced area for pets.  Umbrella stroller available for  
toddlers.  Carport.  Binder located in the living room with many  
pamphlets, etc., to help you plan your daily vacation activities in  
the area.

Activities and Attractions

Hiking in the Nantahala Forest, Appalachian Trail, Backpacking, Joyce  
Kilmer Memorial Forest (magnificent), Joyce Kilmer-Slickrock  
Wilderness, Cherohala Skyway (awesome), Whitewater Rafting and  
Kayaking in the Nantahala or Ocoee Rivers, Mountain Biking, ATV  
Rentals, Fields of the Wood, Tubing at Fires Creek, Swimming and  
picnicking at Hanging Dog and Potete Park (GA), picnicking at  
Cherokee Lake Park, John C. Campbell Folk School, Shopping and  
Antiquing in the flea markets and many craft shops in the area, Smoky  
Mountain National Park, Cherokee Indian Reservation and Harrah's  
Casino, Blue Ridge Parkway, Great Smoky Mountain Railway, Hiwassee  
Dam, Fontana Dam, Lakes Nottely and Hiwassee provide fishing and  
boating (pontoon boat rentals too) along with numerous rivers and  
trout streams, Alpine Village of Helen, GA, Gem Mining, Waterfalls  
(you don't want to miss these), and more.  Many of the roads that  
take you to your destinations are also designated as NC Scenis Byways.

Vacation Rental Rates

$450 per week plus sales/occupancy taxes of 10%, $100 refundable  
security deposit and $50 cleaning fee, Saturday to Saturday. 
 
Winter rate - $400 per week January-February plus sales/occupancy  
taxes of 10%, $100 refundable security deposit and $50 cleaning fee. 
 
$1,300 per month plus sales/occupancy taxes of 10%, $200 refundable  
security deposit and $50 cleaning fee. 
 
$80 per night, 3 night minimum, plus sales/occupancy taxes of 10%.   
Total rent amount, sales/occupancy taxes, cleaning fee and $100  
refundable security deposit are to be paid in full to hold date on  
all daily rentals. 
 
Payments accepted by personal check, money order, cashier's check,  
credit cards thru Western Union, cash. 
 
Note:  Bookings are not confirmed until security deposit is  
received.  Total rent amount, sales/occupancy taxes of 10% and  
cleaning fee are due no later than two weeks prior to your arrival  
date, along with any pet security deposits, if applicable. 
 
$100 refundable pet security deposit with prior approval of owner  
(well behaved housebroken dogs).  No cats please.  Flea/tick  
prevention application required prior to bringing pet to cabin. 
 
Check-in 2:00 p.m., Check-out 10:00 a.m.
