wister house

sharon (milton, ns, canada)
Review submitted: September 30, 2011   Date of arrival: September 19, 2011

This house was gorgeous, with a stunning kitchen, all amenities, beautiful ocean view and a friendly but unobtrusive owner in a separate cottage on the property.

It was centrally located, clean, with lots of extras, such as lovely original artwork, carpets, books, Jenn-air stove..

We loved the scenery and there were lots of restaurants nearby.

Would recommend it to anyone.

Good Times

Review submitted: May 8, 2011   Date of arrival: April 16, 2011

This property was very well maintained and clean. The owners were very attentive. I would recommend this property to anyone interested in having a quiet vacation with enough outdoor room for kids/family to run around and play outside. We loved the yard and decks in particular. Nearby is a private neighborhood beach that you can walk to. Close driving distance to Narragansett beach with stores and restaurants.A great little town called Wickford for shopping. We really had an amazing time.

Recommended for: families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, pet-friendly, sight seeing, romantic getaway

Owners response: This is, indeed, a great place to enjoy quiet time after enjoying the incredible amount of vacation activities in RI. Everything from beaches to art museums is within easy reach.

New Years Eve!

jleighbrig8 (Westchester, NY)
Review submitted: January 10, 2011   Date of arrival: December 30, 2010

The Wister House was everything we needed for a relaxing New Years holiday. We were able cook a three course meal, sit in front of a roaring fire, sip wine, and play Scrabble on the first night. The next day we decided to go to Newport, which took less than 15 minutes to get to! Amazing sunset views on the bay...we couldn't have asked for much more. Incredible places to get the freshest seafood available, and to be able to bring it back to prepare our own meal with friends and family in an impeccable kitchen was exactly what we were looking for.
The priceless waterfront views in the evening and morning sunrises will definitely draw us back to Wister again this summer for some beach and festival fun!

Recommended for: adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, people with disabilities, families with teenagers, girls getaway, pet-friendly, sight seeing, romantic getaway
