Great Accomodations

Review submitted: June 16, 2014   Date of arrival: May 23, 2014

Needed a place to stay to attend a Swim meet for my two fishes and for a place to enjoy a holiday weekend with some beach time with some gal pals who came along. Hotels on this holiday Memorial day weekend were out of this world and nothing even available, so started the search for a rental cottage.

So we 3 three woman, and two children decided to stay at the Wister House, seemed to be a great fit, and oh what a great fit it was. Had 4 comfortable bedrooms and three well equipped bathrooms... who needed more?

The historical house is comfortable and cozy but spacious, Kitchen great to cook in and all can gather to pitch in or just converse while the cook does thier magic. We gathered to paint and color rocks as a past time. Games and puzzles to keep us occupied on the cooler afternoons This house has a great front porch overlooking Narragansett Bay, with views of the bridge to Newport and a light house, but yet very private. It is on a lovely quiet street with beautiful homes, friendly neighbors and a quick walk to a stone covered beach which was just perfect to dip our toes in and skip some rocks, you could probably launch a kayak or canoe from there. The home is also filled with the owners personal art, which is lovely.

Michelle was very friendly and easy to contract with, she even found a lost seahouse charm and shipped it back to my girlfriend very quickly.

Very centrally located and close to Narraganseet beaches and shopping, Newport, Providence just a hop, skip an a jump away.

We truly hope we can come back to enjoy this homey home again. You won't be disappointed

Wister House

Review submitted: October 8, 2013   Date of arrival: October 4, 2013

This was a great property for a getaway week-end and our cousins reunion. We spent hours playing dice and cards and laughing around the kitchen table. We prepared snacks (no cooking---by our rules---although it is well set up for cooking and entertaining). It had wonderful windows and views of landscaping and peaks of ocean. We were off season, but certainly there was no shortage of restaurants and shopping available. We need to return to explore the area more fully! Michele (owner) was available to answer any questions but we always felt we had our own little piece of paradise. Also, this was the first time we rented a house rather than stay in hotels. After reading the details, the process is straightforward and now we feel this is just the beginning of another travel option.

Owners response: Thanks so very much for your review. Glad you enjoyed the house, the area, and the water views from every room of the house!

Fabulous private getaway, steps to the stone beach

Review submitted: September 10, 2013   Date of arrival: September 6, 2013

As you turn down the road you see the bay and the tree lined street with tall hedges and flowering shrubs you know you've landed in a little bit of paradise! What a surprise to find a fully equipped kitchen and four totally separate bed/baths so that everyone in our group had their own digs! We enjoyed an all girl weekend, what a blast, sitting on the porch up at 6 to watch the sun rise over the water, meditation listening to babbling water and birds chirping... close to everything you want to see or do, great place!

Owners response: Thank you, Lori! It was a having you all as guests and look forward to your future visits!
