Enjoy the newly remodeled pool that overlooks the historic harbor and the park.  Take a stroll through Historic Downtown with all her nearly 25 restuarants, bars, some with live entertainment, not to mention the brand newly remodeled Crane Creek Prominade, or  an afternoon walk over the causeway to the beaches to view the gorgeous sunsets not to mention the simple, yet breathe taking sunrises entering Melbourne Harbor.   The City of Melbourne added brand new benches, planters, trash recepticals, and 2 metal covered gazebos for comfort while you view Crane Creek's abundant wildlife with box turtles, manatees, trout, occassionally a dolphin venturing up the creek, egrets, seagulls, heron, and Ospray which often look like eagles.

Located just over the bridge from Indialantic Beach and Melbourne Beach while nestled in a great walkable urban historic downtown, with cycling options all around.  Local attractions include Beautiful Beaches, kayaking, Hatt's Diving literally just one block east along Melbourne AVE from the condo, plus Camp Holly airboat rides near Sebastian along A1A, Forever Florida ecological park, Andretti's Thrill Park (Babcock St.) and the Brevard Zoo plus the zoo'z totally new Zip-Line where you fly through jungle tree tops 20 feet+ above the ground.  Only an hour from Orlando attractions including Walt Disney, Wet & Wild, Seaworld, and Universal Studios.   Of course you have nearly 40 miles of sandy beaches to enjoy nature, read, or just relax.

This condo is in a great location with a wonderful view over Melbourne Harbor when looking out of the living room window. The Creek where we have seen dolphins and Historic Downtown, with Candlelight Shopping on Saturdays in December and great places to eat are just a short walk away.

For an extended stay this condo is so much better and cheaper than a hotel and offers everything needed. The owners are always available, so friendly and very helpful. I have already booked again!

Recommended for: age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway

Not so pleased

We rented this condo for 4 weeks, but were not advised about the construction going on,which was in full swing when we arrived. A crew was working on the staircase and roof ofthe "community patio", right in front of our door and bedroom window. The noise drove us crazy and we could not stay in the unit during day time. Construction people were using the condo next door as storage and almost every night we locked the door of that unit before we went to bed, which was left wide open. The area is "home" to some weirdo's, who love to sleep under the bridge, hang out around the gas station next door or in the garden in front of the building, or in the unit next door ater they reached their daily limit of alcohol .
We considered using the pool area one afternoon, but could not find any chairs, plus the pick-nick area next to it was "occupied" by some homeless who were very interested in "talking" to us and we decided to use the pool of a hotel on the beach. Our 2 adult children tried to sleep in the pull-out sofa in the lilving room but due to the bad quality/discomfort they decided to move to a hotel on the beach the next day and stayed there during their stay.

After addressing our problems the Owners were not willing to re-imburse some rental fee but offered one week free rental. When we rebooked this condo for Dec 2011, we received confirmation from the Owners for the rental period and our 1 week rental credit was used as deposit.

However, shortly prior to our arrival we received info from the Owner that the condo was rented and not available to us for the period we had booked it. The excuse was that we were very complicated renters, that the construction was still going on and that we would not have liked it to stay there again.

We decided to give up our 1 week rental credit and to rent from a reliable Owner a more reasonable and better equipped condo in a safer location.
And forget the "close to the beach" non-sense, you need to walk a high-way acroos the bridge, plus to cross Melbourne Beach.

We suggest future renters to handle this rental unit and its Owners with care!

Owners response: "We were unaware to the extent that the construction was going to take until they were well under way - the construction turned into a 8 month renovation project. We apologized profusely for their inconvenience and offered them a free week stay. He contacted me to reserve time at Christmas and then never followed up until three weeks later - I could not hold the time without confirmation and this is the email response that I sent him:

Yes, I did receive your email and I did try to confirm your reservation for December on separate occasions. I sent an email on 9/29/11, and when we did not hear back I had Mark send a second email on 10/10/11, with still no response from you. Below you stated that "at least I would have expected an email from you before accepting other reservations." I did send not one email but two and you did not respond. I then cancelled the Intuit request for payment and took a booking that includes your requested time period.

It wasn't until 10/20/11 (21 days later), that you finally replied, and not to confirm previous dates but to change them.

I'm very sorry - we've tried to be accommodating but cannot just hold space with no response confirmation.

I treated this reservation exactly the same way we treat all reservations and if I don't receive a confirmation or a payment after 2 try's then we presume the person booking has made other arrangements."

The construction is now nearing completion; we have return visitors from last year and glowing compliments. I can honestly say we've received only one other complaint next to this one - we have been booked solid this year with very happy guests.

We had a wonderful stay! We were there for one month and could not have asked for better! The unit is right next to the laundry facilities (perfect). We walked to downtown Melbourne for the Art Festival and then a couple of times just for a stroll. It takes less than five minutes. VERY clean and had all the comforts of home. Even the sheets felt like home. Owners were very accomodating and always available. Can't say enough good things.
