Panther Mountain House in Phoenicia

Our house is completely private, located on a dead-end road high in a valley near Phoenicia.  It was completely renovated by the previous owners and features a beautiful, cathedral-ceilinged, open-plan master bedroom as well as a fully-equipped gourmet kitchen.  The valley views from the house and deck are spectacular and the surrounding mountains are beautiful in any weather, in any season.  This is a great location for an outdoor enthusiast or anyone who just needs a quiet getaway only two hours from the GWB.

Fireplace, fully-equipped kitchen, gas grill.  House nominally sleeps four but extra people can be accomodated with aerobeds, of which we have 2 (full size).

Anyone who loves the outdoors will love this place.  Hiking and showshoeing are across the road at the Fox Hollow trailhead.  From here you can easily access Panther Mountain and Giant Ledge, and from there connect to a whole network of state-maintained trails.  Skiing is 12 minutes away at Belleayre, and about 30 minutes away at Hunter.  Tubing, kayaking or fishing on the Esopus are right around the corner, and the best pancakes in the world are at Sweet Sue's in Phoenicia, only 10 minutes away.

This is also an amazing place to flee the rat-race and think - you can get away from the world for a few days and get that first novel finished!

All regular stays are minimum two nights.
