“The River Runs Through” – Chateau in Saratoga Springs

Before continuing on its way to Saratoga State Park, the Brook cuts a deep gorge in a wooded plateau.  There, straddling both banks lies the pot of gold! A 10-acre oasis of wilderness turned into a private park, secluded picnic area on a river bank with a fire pit and a cantilevered deck overlooking the valley. The only creatures you may have to share the treasure with, will be the Birds, Deer, wild Turkey and Turtles often seen along the picturesque nature trail.

The house designed and owned by a European interior designer and her writer husband, combines beauty with comfort.  Filled with original artwork, a mixture of antique and modern furniture, warmed by a fireplace and cooled by central air system, it offers a view of nature from each of its huge windows.

Along with the morning coffee, step out onto the wraparound deck and patio to let the fresh air breathe life into a new day. Fantastic views of the lawn and woods can be enjoyed from the two balconies attached to the bedrooms on the second floor.

With beauty found in every corner, let your senses drown in the luxurious surroundings of the…. spacious living room, dining room and gourmet kitchen fit for entertainment….and once you’re done with entertaining head to one of the most tranquil spots of the house. The library; separated from the hallway by a glass pocket door and filled with books, has a glass outer façade looking out at the brook, providing the perfect spot for meditation.
It can be easily transformed to a place of joy and family fun and entertainment room with access to both DVD, cable TV.

Living Room
The main living, the place of comfort and casual elegance. Hardwood flooring, Persian rugs, European antique furniture and comfortable sofas…. accented with original paintings of race horses and ballerinas. The cathedral ceiling adds to the grandeur but the high efficiency fireplace, and a central air conditioning provides  for perfect evironment.

Dining Room
The dining room separated from the living room by two columns and open to the southern deck through a sliding glass door.  The large table, perfect for an elegant dinner party can accommodate 12 people, with enough space left for all of the wonderful food created in the kitchen.

Independent Apartment
There is a wholly independent modern apartment at the underground level (with 1 bedroom, cedar closet, fully equipped kitchen, second living room and a full bath).

Bathrooms
Two bathrooms with Jacuzzis, all tiled from floor to ceiling, on the second floor. The master one being all marble. One on the first floor with shower and one full bath in the underground level.

Bedrooms
Four on the second floor – Master suite with a king size bed, walking closet and private balcony. Another large bedroom with a king size bed and a private balcony, and the remaining two with queen size beds. The fifth bedroom is in the private apartment.
