Smoky Mountain Lodge

PHC2069 (Gallatin, Tennessee 37066)
Review submitted: July 7, 2011   Date of arrival: July 2, 2011

This is a great house for a large family reunion. We had 31people ranging in age from 6 months to 83 and it was wonderful for all of us. Great, comfortable, sleeping and dining accommodations for all. For once, we had plenty of dishes and linens, beds, bathrooms, games, hot tubs, seating places, grilling space and everything else we needed. My one and only "complaint" is that getting from the main house to the Harvest House was physically challenging/dangerous,especially at night and for those who were not too steady on their feet. There were lots of activities in the area for those who wanted something to do, but most of us chose to sit on the porches, look at the fabulous view, and enjoy the time together. I was happy to stay at the lodge for the entire week.

We had fantastic customer service and everything was well-maintained. The check-out rules were the best/most customer friendly I have ever had, and we have had an annual reunion in rental houses for the past 28 years!

One word of advice, don't put elderly people in the Harbest House. There are so many unexpected step-ups and step-downs, we had several falls, but they were by younger folks with strong bones and no injuries.

Family reunion

We are a family of seven siblings. With our spouses, chindren and grnadchildren we ranged in age from four months to seventy years old. There were 34 of us, so we used every inch of the property. Everyone was so comfortable. It was so nice to have the big deck for evening meals. We are a family that likes to cook so the big kitchen (with two dishwashers!)was a definite plus to us. There was also a kitchen in the basement that helped out also. There was plenty of room for the adults to gather and families with children had their space too.
Everyone at the rental agency was very hospitalbe and accomodating, which we truly appreciated.

Recommended for: adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, pet-friendly, sight seeing
