activities and attractions in Pensacola Gulf Coast North

It's hard to know where to start! Obviously fishing, swimming, kayaking, boating, skiing, sun bathing and just good old fashion relaxing can be done without ever leaving the property.  However, I must admit you would be missing out on a whole lotta fun if you didn't venture out to some of Pensacola's many attractions.  But don't worry, you don't have to go far!

This vacation spot is minutes away from everything!  Visit Pensacola's WORLD  Renouned PENSACOLA NAVAL AIR MUSEUM less than 5 miles away.

Fort Pickens, where Geranimo was held as a prisoner and many historical battles were fought.  You can go by land or sea.  Either way it is only a few minutes away.

The sugar sand beaches of Pensacola Beach are a short ride by boat or land (less than 15 minutes either way).

You are only 5 minutes away from downtown Pensacola where you can enjoy the finest dining in the WORLD! Whether your tastebuds are longing for seafood, steak, sushi or  finger foods,  you will not be disapointed when visiting places like my families personal favorites the Fishhouse, Ore house, Pegleg Petes,  Miller's Ale  House,  Flounder's(great for families), Crabs, Jackson's, and many more.

Live bands flood the beach and downtown area during the summer if you are looking for evening fun.  Establisments such as Seville Quarter, Fishhouse, The Boardwalk, the Band Shell, Bamboo Willies, The Dock, or a personal favorite Hub Stacey's will have live music to suite your taste.

Charter Fishing trips from flats fishing for Bull Reds, Gator Trout, and Doormat Flounder or going deep for the big Grouper, Snapper, Amberjack, or enjoy the thrill of drag burning King Macrel right back in the Bay.

Festivals are a part of the culture here in Pensacola.  Many of them take place at beautifull Seville Park only 10 minutes from your vacation spot.  We will keep updated literature of local events going on during your stay for your convenience. I find pensacolatodo is also a very good resource for local events.

Enjoy 18 holes of water front Golf courses all around you.  Lost Key Golf Resort, Pensacola Country Club, Perdido Key Golf Resort, and Tiger Point all are precisely manicured and have magnificent views of the different Bays and water ways in which they front. All less than 10 minutes except Tiger Point which is 20 minutes but well worth the drive for the true golf fanatic.

Parasailing, dolphin tours, sunset cruises, diving trips, snorkling trips, theatrical plays, carriage rides, water parks, and so much more can be enjoyed without excessive travel.

Boat rides to breathtaking Island can be arranged for non-boaters per request and availability.

Wedding To Attend

Pammie (Kentucky)
Review submitted: April 10, 2013   Date of arrival: April 4, 2013

Really enjoyed our stay. Don't let looks be deceiving. This is a trailer but very well taken care of. The beds were comfortable and I slept really well considering I have a hard time sleeping away from home. I did take my own blanket with me just because it helps me feel more at home. My parents stayed with us and they said it was much nicer than the cabins they stay in at Kentucky Lake. The pier around the corner was nice and only wish I had had more time to just lounge there but I chose the only one day I had to myself to spend on the Perdido Key beach. The only thing I missed at the rental property was a microwave. I have to admit when we walked up to the door, I could smell cat pee and was pretty worried about the inside; however there were no bad smells inside the house. There seem to be a lot of cats running around outside which is great by me because it means there is a less chance of mice inside. My husband is allergic to cats and he didn't have any allergy problems inside so that was a plus. Lots to do within 10 plus miles from the location. Convenient located close to the NAS, Pensacola Lighthouse which is where my daughter was married. Perdido Key beach very short drive. I would recommend and definitely return in the future.

Recommended for: adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, pet-friendly, sight seeing

Owners response: I am glad you found the place to comfortable and clean. It is very relaxing to us as well. The dock is an ideal place to lounge, bbq, swim or fish. Any time spent there is enjoyable. We will put a microwave there per your request for future tenants. We should have already taken care of that. Thanks for reminding us.

Terrible Terrible Trip

Kosha (Lynn Haven, FL)
Review submitted: July 30, 2012   Date of arrival: June 21, 2012

This was the worst vacation I have ever had! The description of the property online was a lot different when I made my reservation and was completely misleading. I knew very well that I was not renting an expensive beach condo, but I did not expect I walked into. The property is not well maintained and was in no way clean when I arrived with my two small children. Upon opening the front door we noticed right away a horrible smell. After inspecting we found that the worst of the smell was coming from the refrigerator and the very small bedroom. I called Barry right away but had to wait over an hour for a call back. He decided to sent his wife to the property. She arrived at 6pm and started to look for what was causing the smells. In the bedroom, under the bed where my children were supposed to sleep, was a dead rat! And in the bottom of the refrigerator, was bloody fish water that had never been cleaned. The floors were so nasty, that the bottom of my kids feet were black. This property is not clean and has not been taken care of at all. The dishwasher is broken, there is a note on the wall about the air conditioning freezing up and the plywood doors are peeling up at the bottom. These are only a few of the problems.
As for the so called "private dock". This lot is down the road and around the corner. When we walked down to check it out, the dock was covered with 10 or 12 other people from the neighborhood. They had NO respect for us and that we were the renters of that dock. They would not leave and I did not need a large confrontation in front of my children, so we left. My 4 yr old kept asking why he couldn't go swimming. It was terrible.
I have a hard time believing that I am the only person that has ever had issues with this property and being honest, I think that Barry is writing his own reviews.
There is no one in this world that I would recommend this property to. The description he has online makes this property sound way better than it is. It may sound like a good deal...but travelers be warned!
After standing in the driveway till after 7:30pm waiting to see if the place could be cleaned. Myself, my husband, my two children and my elder parents had to leave and find a hotel. Vacation Ruined!

Owners response: We are very sorry for the experience this person had. However, we did attempt to correct the situation. I was out of town when the tenant arrived. Upon receiving the message I immediately called them back around 6:15pm. It was explained to me at that time that they discovered an odor in the home when they pulled out the bottom bed of the Captains bed in the kids room. That is the only complaint I received from the initial call. At that time I called my wife to see if she could call the cleaning person to go down to rectify the problem. My wife told me she would go personally so they would know we were sincere about making them happy. I agreed that would be best. We live 45 minutes away, so it did take my wife about an hour to get supplies and get there. The other issues came up later with the refrigerator and the dock as I was continuing conversation with the tenant and my wife. My wife saw that the refrigerator didn't get cleaned good(that was not discovered by the tenant). Something had leaked down under the bottom drawer of the refrigerator and was missed during the initial cleaning. Therefore, my wife just proceeded to reclean the whole house to make sure nothing came up later. Since it was dinner time, my wife told them we would treat them to dinner. A family of 5, so it was an offer of minimum $100 for the inconvenience while she thoroughly cleaned. They said they were leaving and would be back in touch. We never heard back from them. We assumed they came back and resumed their vacation. It was the following week they emailed to let us know they never came back.

I am sure they encountered people at our dock. We are friendly with our neighbors down there and their kids like to swim from our dock. When we are there they know they are welcome to enjoy our property. Obviously, they have extended their welcome to when we are not there as well. So, since this incident I have put a gate up and explained to the neighbors that they can only come when we are there. I understand it is not the responsibility of our tenants to have to ask people to leave.

We feel we have a great place to offer people that's an affordable and relaxing place to stay. It is not a condo on the beach. However, in my opinion and others that have emailed me and left reviews give an accurate and truthful expectation that is better in many ways than the beach.

Please call and talk to me before you book with us to make sure this is what you are looking for.

We loved this rental! It was in a very quiet neighborhood with very friendly and helpful locals. The community is out of the super-touristy areas but close enough to everything. Just a couple minutes drive and you can be at the grocery store, the Naval Air Station, or Joe Patti's, and all with very little traffic. It was simply very convenient to everything.
Nestled on the Bayou Grande, the dock was well protected from the weather and was an easy, short boat ride out to Pensacola Bay and the best beaches I've been to. The depth in the Bayou is plenty deep for boating, swimming, and fishing. We even caught fish off the dock in the evenings after supper. And make sure you get up early to watch the Blue Angels practice.... You can watch them from the back door or the boat dock. Very close and very amazing. Now, it is not beach front, but there is a swimming area at the dock. But we brought our 17' boat and cruised all over the place for our week.
We found the house very comfortable and the kitchen more than reasonably stocked. The place was clean and overall in good condition. The yard is nice sized, and a good portion of it is fenced in(we should've brought our dog, he'd have loved it). There was a small charcoal grill and a fish fryer out back, washer and dryer inside, and pretty well every feature we could think of needing or wanting.
All in all, we found this place to be the best deal we've every found on a rental. We've done Panama City, Destin, Ft. Myers, Dauphin Island, and this is the place we plan to come back to every summer. Barry was very helpful and patient with my constant stream emails and questions and he was very knowledgeable about the area.
I definately would recommend this rental to my friends and family. I can give no better commendation than the fact that we plan to come back next year. I hope you all enjoy it as much as we did.

Recommended for: adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, pet-friendly, sight seeing, romantic getaway

Owners response: It makes me feel great to see that people get the same satisfaction and experience that my family gets out of the place. Those are very kind words and give us great enjoyment knowing others had such a wonderful experience.

Thank you for taking the time to share it with us.

Regards,

Barry
