vacation rental description

The Narrows Cottage is located on the channel that connects 2 lakes.  The channel is approximately ½ mile long; while the upper lake is approximately 1 ½ miles long and ¾ mile wide, and the lower lake is approximately 2 ½ miles long and ½ mile wide.  The lakes are ideal for boating, skiing, tubing, and all water sports.  The channel is a peaceful setting with abundant wildlife such as ducks, mink, chipmunks, blue jays, muskrat, osprey, eagles, and heron.  There is a five mile per hour no wake zone on the channel which also contributes to the peaceful setting.  Bring your boat or kayak and enjoy the water, or use the rowboat and canoe provided.  Our dock and beach are right on the channel.

A second visit to Narrows Cottage.

Review submitted: August 11, 2014   Date of arrival: July 19, 2014

Our second visit to Narrows Cottage and we enjoyed it just as much as the first time!
A great location for visiting Coeur D'alene, Silverwood and other areas or for just relaxing on , by or in the lake!
The owners are very helpful when planning your stay and quick to respond to questions. The property is clean, well maintained and well stocked, our particular favorite amenity is the use of the canoe to go fishing on the lake!
Would highly recommend a stay at Narrows Cottage, it's a great get away and we will definitely visit again!

Recommended for: age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers, pet-friendly, sight seeing, romantic getaway

Narrows Cottage

Review submitted: June 14, 2014   Date of arrival: June 9, 2014

We stayed at the Narrows Cottage for two nights in June. The cottage was very well cared for, thoughtfully appointed, and clean. It was not difficult to spot bald eagles, great blue herons, osprey, or a variety of ducks. We enjoyed taking their canoe out for several short jaunts on the lake. The owners were extremely hospitable and wonderful to work with. I only wish that we could have stayed another night.

Two nights of pure pleasure

Review submitted: May 13, 2014   Date of arrival: May 7, 2014

Narrows Cottage is a perfect place to stay for a vacation of any duration. It is the cleanest and most well provisioned rental house my wife and I have ever stayed in. Linens, towels, utensils, spices and even popcorn, coffee and hot chocolate were all available and very much appreciated. The beds were made before we arrived and all of the utilities worked flawlessly. The deck and dock are wonderful as they provided great views of grebes, geese and ducks constantly flying about. The dock has clear casting room in three directions, even with a fly rod. I caught fish at will all day on the only full day we had there. The town of Rathdrum is a short (and pretty) drive from the cottage and offers everything you may need from fishing licenses and groceries to very good restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Just a perfect place to stay!

Recommended for: adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, people with disabilities, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sight seeing, romantic getaway
