Here at the “19th Hole” your dream vacation becomes reality -- a cozy cabin high in the North Carolina mountains only 2 miles off the Blue Ridge Parkway.  Have you ever fantasized how nice it would be to wake up snuggled in a warm cozy bed to the sounds of birds and a rushing river and then step out on a deck to sip your coffee, taking in the cool mountain air and the gorgeous colors of the season?

This nicely appointed 2,500 square foot log home finished in knotty pine and oak hardwood floors, overlooks the 13th fairway of Mt.Mitchell Golf Course -- one of the finest Golf and Country Clubs in the region and rated 4 ½ stars by Golf Digest, and suiting the needs of the most particular golfer.  This home also features a Game room with an AMF Play Master Pool Table, Dart Board, wet bar, fridge, and access to the lower deck.

You don’t have to be a golfer to appreciate the “19th Hole” which offers you mountain views from 2 large decks along with privacy, fresh mountain air and the relaxing sounds of South Toe River. Try your hand at fly fishing. Take a bike ride on the Blue Ridge Parkway just 2 miles away. Go tubing at nearby Carolina Hemlocks Park. Hike to nearby waterfalls, including Roaring Fork, Setrock Creek and Crabtree Meadows. Shop for pottery, gems and glassware created by local artisans. Or climb the observation tower at Mount Mitchell, the highest point east of the Mississippi River at 6,684 feet.

Upon entering the home you will find yourself in the family room. Get ready to snuggle up on one of the large sofa's in front of the gas log wood stove. The family room has a 32 inch television, cable T.V, DVD and CD player. The kitchen has beautiful granite countertops and all the modern appliances you could think of including a gas oven and range, microwave, garbage disposal and dish washer. All cookware, dinner ware and utensils are provided.

The entire ground level has solid Oak hardwood floors with carpeted areas in the upper and lower bedrooms.  On a rainy night fall asleep to the tranquil sounds of the rain drops hitting on an old fashioned tin roof. Each of the 3 bedrooms has a large queen size pine bed and matching dressers along with a queen sofa bed. All bed and bath linens are provided.

The nearest Whitewater rafting is from the village of Loafers Glory, about
25 miles north in Mitchell County.  From there they have excursions down the
Nolichucky River which flows into Tennessee.

For tubing, the nearest getting in point on the South Toe River, which also
flows below your home (19th Tee) is about 5 miles north on NC80 at Carolina
Hemlocks Recreation Area.  You can rent tubes there in the recreation park
(its $2 per day to park in the picnic area, plus a small fee to rent tubes
don't recall the dollar amount).  If you can find someone to go downstream
and park where they can see you coming through (you don't want to float past
your ride home), there are lots of places along the river to pick up.  It
takes all afternoon to go as far as Blue Rock Road, maybe 2 hours to float
down to 7-mile Ridge Road, about half hour to Hat Creek Trail, and lots of
people just get out at the lower end of the park and roll their tubes back
to the upper end, about 10-15 minute walk, and about 20-30 minutes floating
down.
