Come enjoy our spectacular 3 bedroom home set on a 100-acre estate with expansive views across open fields, meadows and woods to the beautiful Shawangunk Ridge and the Historic Mohonk Mountain House. The house is comfortably furnished, features two master bedroom suites and sleeps 6. There is a sofa bed in the den for possibly another two children.

The large deck off the dining room is shaded by maples and pines and has sweeping views over our 1/4 acre spring fed swimming pond and the fields and mountains beyond.

While the setting is private, quiet and breathtaking, it is not remote. We are just a few minutes drive from a variety of services, and an 18-hole golf course that abuts our 100 acres. The house is 10 minutes from the charming towns of High Falls and Stone Ridge, and a half an hour to either Woodstock in the Catskills, or New Paltz in the Hudson Valley. We are located just 90 miles from Manhattan.

Perfectly situated to explore the Catskills and the entire Hudson Valley region. Chaits Getaway is just 20 minutes from Mohonk and Minnewaska Preserves, where you can enjoy world class climbing, swimming, biking, running, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, cross-country skiing.

Additionally, there are multiple restaurants, bars, wineries, antiquing, cafes, shopping, yoga, gyms, movie theaters, local farmers markets and orchards nearby.

Chaits Getaway is surrounded by mature and beautiful gardens with a wide variety of trees and wildlife on our 100 acre property. It is very tranquil, quiet and serene here....   the perfect getaway.

Chaits Getaway is a full time vacation rental property. What that means is that while you will find everything you need for a comfortable and pleasant stay, you won't find our own personal effects or clutter throughout the house or closets. The place is yours for your time there.

Chaits Getaway is an old country farm house built in 1887 which was completely and lovingly restored in 1975 by our family.  Two years ago another addition was added bringing a second master bedroom suite into the home. This year we have completely remodeled the kitchen and upstairs master bath.

The large 21' x 16' living room features a massive stone fireplace, a cathedral ceiling, exposed barn beams and a weathered barn board wall expropriated from the old family barn.

The stone fireplace wall carries around into the new cook's kitchen, which also has a fireplace hearth right in the room. The newly remodeled fully equipped gourmet kitchen features all stainless appliances, a gas range, custom made cherry cabinets and granite counter tops. There are tremendous views out all the windows and through the dining room to additional views beyond.

There are two master bedroom suites in the house. The upstairs 18' x 13.5' master bedroom features sweeping views over the pond and the Shawangunk mountains. The large newly renovated tile floored bath has a walk-in shower and a separate bathtub with windows out to the views.

The downstairs 15' x 14.5' master bedroom has views of the fields, and features a large bay window, a raised ceiling with fan, radiant heated bamboo flooring, and french doors to the den. It's large ceramic tiled bath has a walk-in shower.

The third bedroom (13' x 10.5') is at the top of the stairs and has original country pine flooring. A tiled bathroom with shower is right next to the bedroom. All three bedrooms have Queen-sized beds with quality mattresses, along with all the necessary linens, blankets and towels needed to make your visit easy and enjoyable.

Other than a few rooms which retain the original country pine flooring, there are beautiful hardwood floors throughout the house. There is central air conditioning downstairs to keep you cool in the summer, and a washer/dryer in the upstairs bath. In addition to the three baths already mentioned, there is another half bath just off the entryway. A custom built contemporary mahogany stairway leads to the upper floor.

Mobile Broadband Internet access is available. There is a wide screen TV in the den with Dish Network. The living room has a CD player and FM tuner wired into overhead speakers with a variety of CD's to choose from.

Outside there are various patio tables and chairs on the deck, along with a gas grill. Additional outdoor furniture is scattered throughout the property, providing discreet and lovely areas to sit and enjoy the views from the expansive lawns, special places under the trees, or down by the pond. Our favorite spot is the hammock on the lower deck!

Chaits Getaway sits on 100 acres of beautiful rolling fields and hills, most of it open and farmed by a neighboring farmer. The photos here don't really capture the beauty and tranquility of it all. There are many wonderful walks which can be made throughout the property. Or enjoy the network of country roads all around the area for walking or biking.

Just below the house is our 1/4 acre spring-fed  swimming pond, with dock and sitting area, great for sunning, swimming, or just whiling away the afternoon. Enjoy the view from the deck of the house which looks right over the pond and the sweeping views beyond.

For golfers, our land borders an 18 hole golf course opened to the public, which is about a five minute drive from here to the clubhouse. There are also several other golf courses within a short drive from the house.

Chaits Getaway is located just 10 minutes drive from High Falls and Stone Ridge in the Hudson Valley, and about half way between New Paltz near the Hudson River, and Woodstock in the Catskills. Half hour drive in either direction brings you to those two towns and all the area's amenities in between.

Additional Cleaning fee: $100 per rental period.
