Exudes Quintessential Cape Cod Enchanting Charm

Leslie (Charlestown, Massachusetts)
Review submitted: July 23, 2012   Date of arrival: July 14, 2012

This absolutely lived up to our finest expectations. It is the quintessential Cape Cod cottage in the ultimate classic Cape Cod neighborhood filled with an eclectic array of waterfront cottages, bungalows and fine homes with no two looking alike.

The location is perfection with the wonderful swimming beach literally a one-minute walk down the street and, in the other direction, charming village shops are a three-minute walk away.

The outside grounds of the cottage feature lush gardens surrounding all sides filled with hydrangea and other flowers, a yard, a barbecue, numerous chairs, a table and a picnic table, a lovely garden gate on the white picket fence and something that many summer people insist upon – an outdoor shower with hot water perfect when coming in from the beach.

The sunny cottage itself, while exuding charm, has every modern appliance you’d need including a dishwasher, a clothes washer and dryer, two flat screen tv’s, up-to-date kitchen stocked with every utensil, cooking implement and dishware you’d ever want and a modern bathroom. It also comes supplied with some things that other places make you bring yourself such as sheets and towels. Aside from that, it’s completely enchanting from the knotty pine walls, brilliantly lit sun porch that I slept on one night since I loved the cool ventilation from all sides, the old artwork of old Cape Cod scenes and a really terrific first-rate library of books everywhere.

If you’re looking for the old bygone Cape Cod of yesteryear with friendly neighbors strolling up and down the street saying hello to everyone, this is, indeed, the place. It’s the second summer I stayed here and I’ll keep coming back.

Review of 39 Ocean Ave

Peter the Telemarker (N.Chelmsford, MA)
Review submitted: July 23, 2012   Date of arrival: July 7, 2012

This was a great way to spend a week with my family and I have to say the house is special on Ocean Ave. It has more land and privacy than any other I saw on this street and I really enjoyed sitting outside and having privacy and hearing the birds sing and take in the garden view. Amazing gardens!

We also loved the short walk to the beach. Just a couple of blocks down Ocean Ave. And a few blocks walk from Dunkin Donuts (sweet).

The sun room was a favorite spot in the house with all the breeze coming in and the flowers surrounding you.

The owner was easy to work with and responsive. She provided lots of extras like beach chairs and mountain bikes.

A highly recommend renting this house for a Cape Cod vacation.
I plan to come back some day!

perfect family spot

Jenna (Hopkinton)
Review submitted: May 25, 2012   Date of arrival: July 16, 2011

We had a great time here last July--The house is a real Cape classic, and very close to the beach. The sun porch and garden are great spots for reading if you prefer shade. The kids loved riding their bikes around the very safe neighborhood, getting ice cream from a truck, and the gigantic television. Jenna
