vacation rental description
This historic church is part of an Historic Landscape District on the National Register. All the other houses in the village have been restored, making for lovely walks and the relaxed experience of being surrounded by nature and history. From the road the church appears as it has for the past 150 years, but inside it has been transformed into a spacious and unique vacation residence. Where the altar once stood large glass doors open onto a flagstone terrace with views of the hillside and fields.
The interior is loft-like in feel withspaces flowing from front to back and from downstairs to the upstairs via a large opening where the balcony boundary once existed. The dining / living area measures 34' X 18'. Upstairs is an entirely open 34' x 45' space with a working studio section and windows on all sides.
house rental amenities
The kitchen is equipped with dishwasher, Gaggeneau oven and cast iron Gaggeneau electric stove top. We recycle and have a composting system. There is one bedroom on the first floor, and upstairs there are two double beds.
Heating is by woodburning stove and back-up electric heat. On the patio is a Tuscan grill for barbeques, and a hammock for relaxing.
