Luxury Southern Waterfront Home Minutes from the Gulf in New Port Richey

What an awesome Family stay!

My wife, kids, and I decided to go to New Port Richey for a week's vacation last summer. We found this place through Vacation Rentals and there was an incredible special the week we wanted to stay. We booked it and went. Upon our arrival, we were extremely pleased. So much space, two stories plus the garage below. Three bedrooms all leading out to a terrace or balcony. Two docks out back. We were in Florida heaven. I brought my boat and tied it up to the dock. The neighbors on the other side of the canal came out at different intervals to say hello. One even offered me bait (live pinfish)on several occasions. Both of my kids have allergies and I was worried about the carpet in the place and the fact that they allow pets. The kids had no issues whatsoever and it was nice and clean with no weird smells. On the second day of our visit, we called Bill to ask for another week of stay. We loved the place. Upon checking out, we cleaned the place very well (as we found it) and were allotted our "cleaning fee" back! What a bargain. We are going back next month (July 2012) for another short visit. Here is some of the things we experienced last summer; 1. We loved taking the boat to the first island straight out in the Gulf of Mexico. It is made up of mostly sand and during the week, is free of people. During the weekend, it is a party mecca, with lots of boats and lots of people. My kids loved finding seashells and sand dollars on that beach. 2. On the 4th of July, we rode out a little bit and watched fireworks from the boat. 3. There are three gas containers that I was able to use to refill the boat when needed. 4. There was a hose available for cleaning the boat engine and rinsing it down where it was tied up on the dock. 5. The two bedrooms upstairs were great for the kids. We were able to watch cable TV downstairs while they slept quietly. 6. The private beach is cool, but small. The sand is not very soft and fun, either, but my kids didn't care. They just wanted to swim. I recommend going to Green Key beach just a short drive north. Or even Honeymoon Island to the south. But, for short beach visits, the private one is fine. 7. I caught the following fish on this trip; lots of trout, grunt, grouper, catfish :(, seabass, and shark (small ones, no bigger than 3 feet). Fishing is great here! 8. Anclotte Key was cool, too. Filthy property

On first impressions this property looked fine with a clean kitchen and newly vacuumed carpets. But on closer inspection we found the rest of the house to be filthy. All surfaces in the living room and bedroom were covered in a thick sticky dust. It took us the best part of four hours to clean before we could unpack. I have to say that the linens and towels were clean although our son would not use the upstairs bathroom as he found pubic hair in the bath. I have plenty of pictures of this to back up my review. We found the TV and the wifi to be as described. We could not use the gas barbecue as it had rusted through and was unsafe.
