vacation rental description
Perkins Cove House is one of Ogunquit's original farmhouses. This stately circa 1850's classic New Englander is situated on almost an acre of rolling green lawn, appletrees, and rockgardens with views of Perkins Cove that is refreshed by the afternoon seabreezes. This lovingly maintained home is the perfect retreat to relax and unwind on your Maine vacation.
Located on the southern coast of Maine, the small town of Ogunquit ( which means beautiful place by the sea ) is a picture perfect coastal village with much to offer. This unique property is just a stones throw from picturesque Perkins Cove where you'll find many quaint shops, great restaurants, art galleries and a harbour full of boats that offer deep sea fishing, scenic cruises and sailing. Perkins Cove is the beginning of the famous Marginal Way ( one of Ogunquit's most precious jewels) a one mile walk that follows the rocky coastline to the center of Ogunquit village. If you don't want to walk you can catch one of many trolleys that run continuously that service all of Ogunquit. Ogunquit is touted as a wonderful "strolling town" by Down East Magazine and like the Cove has many charming shops, cafes, restaurants, icecream shops, art galleries and lovely flowered walkways. In town there is also a historic summer movie theater that plays first run movies and matinees on rainy days. Also close by are public tennis courts and playgrounds. And lets not forget Ogunquit's beautiful three mile white sand beach for sunning and surfing. Ogunquit is also known for it's arts and has a wonderful Art Museum as well as the nationally acclaimed Ogunquit Playhouse that offers popular shows starring well known personalities. From Ogunquit one can quickly access miles of sandy beaches ,estuaries and rocky coastline - go a few miles inland and you'll discover Mt. Agamenticus where you can take in breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean as well as the White Mountains of New Hampshire. There are numerous hiking and biking trails to enjoy and picnic areas.
You'll find everthing you want and more is within striking distance from this secluded yet conveinient unique location.
