Not a 5 stars condo, but great for a family

Review submitted: March 2, 2014   Date of arrival: July 13, 2013

We have been there last summer with our 3 young kids for one week. It is not a five stars hotel, but for the price, we were happy! Before we went there, we were a bit worried to see the condo because the price was low compared to others condos in the same area... We have chosen it because it was not expensive and also because it was close to the beach! That was fantastic to be able to walk to the beach with our kids, even the little one (4 years old).

When we arrived, we founded a pretty big and clean condo... The A/C worked well. The kitchen was well equiped and everything was working find (refrigerator, oven, etc.). The kitchen table was old, but big enough for 5 pesons (it would have been fine for 6 too). The kid's room had two twin beds and was big enough to use one of the two folding bed that were provided. The master bedroom was ok, but the bed could have been more confortable.

Before to rent it, you have to know that the decorations and furnitures were very old fashion. It was very special. That remembered me my grand-parents house when I was a kid... For the most part, the furnitures were in good condition, but some things would need to be changed (in particulary, some lampshades.)

We didn't notice bad odors... The bathroom was fonctionnal and has been cleaned before we came, but would really need some renovation.

If you can pass over the old fashion look and you don't expect a well renovated place, this condo is fine. It is really closed to the beach (5 minutes walk). The area was quiet. Many (maybe all) condos unit of the building are rented to tourists. We have seen a lot of families.

There is a place to do the laundry in the building.

Recommended for: families with young children, families with teenagers, tourists without a car

House of horrors!!!

Review submitted: September 4, 2013   Date of arrival: August 17, 2013

I cannot even describe the horror we had even before we entered this apartment! The main door was scratched, an omen of what was to come... This apartment is in desperate need of a deep cleaning and a total redo. Everything was old and that persistent smell of a moldy uninhabited place never leaves! We were supposed to spend a week in that place, but could not endure more than 3 nights! It was awful! To top it off, a big spider decided to take a stroll through the middle of the living room carrying its 20 or so babies on its back. I took pictures of all this horror including the scratched doors, the hole in the bathroom ceiling, the multiple spots on the carpet, the dirty bathroom rug, etc.!
If you want to spend a decent vacation, do not even think about this apartment! I deeply regret the money we spent when we could have gone to a decent place. It is laughable if it doesn't make one cry! The owner should not be allowed to rent such a dump! This was not our first visit to Virginia Beach, but it was definitely the worst experience, a nightmare!!!
I would not recommend this apartment to anyone!!!

Had a great time with my family!!

Review submitted: July 18, 2012   Date of arrival: July 7, 2012

My family and I had a great time and thought this was a very nice place. When we arrived it was clean and everything was as stated in the discription. The only thing wrong was we found the blue table cloth in the cabinet all balled up and torn in several places.

We made the short 2 block walk to the beach with 3 small children with no problem. I had a fun half day deep sea fishing trip with my son and caught a lot of fish and only had to walk across the street. There is also a huge new play ground at our end of the board walk which was nice for the kids. We found it to be a much more family oriented beach than say ocean city md.

All in all it was a fantastic time had by all and I would absolutely recommend this rental to anyone and we will definately keep this place in mind for next year.

Recommended for: adventure seekers, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway
