Secluded Beauty

alexandrad (Brooklyn, NY)
Review submitted: September 24, 2012   Date of arrival: September 9, 2012

Crow's Way is a beautiful spot with an amazing view. The cabin was cozy, cute, and clean.

After long days hiking in Acadia, it was a great place to come "home." I appreciated that we were able to wash our hiking clothes in the washer and dryer. The kitchen was also well stocked. There is a gas stove in the cabin for chilly nights. Once we finally figured out how to turn it on (after calling for instructions!) we really enjoyed that as well.

On one of our most memorable nights, we stopped at the nearby Trenton Bridge Lobster Pound and bought live lobsters. Back at home, we went down to the beach and got ocean water to steam the lobsters in. Sitting next to the fire pit, watching the sunset, and eating lobsters... life doesn't get much better than that!

Rustic with comforts that count

I stayed at Crows Way for a week's solo getaway. I highly recommend a stay at this wonderful spot. The house is rustic, but so comfortable. Bed was comfortable. The knives were sharp!! The kitchen and baths are updated, and the entire house was clean as could be. There are 3 rocking chairs and a very comfortable sofa in the living room. I enjoyed lolling about on the beach and in the water. The first 5 days I was there I found multitudes of starfish in the intertidal zone at low tide! Sunsets were fantastic. Kept wanting to have a fire in the fire pit at the beach, but couldn't give up the star gazing. Saw multiple meteors each night. Love how removed it is from the throngs on Mt. Dessert, yet offered easy access to any part of the park. Found an excellent massage therapist in Trenton that makes house calls. Enjoyed walking the 1 mile loop with the smell of the balsam fir in the air. Neighbors are close on both side, but unobtrusive and rarely on beach at same time. Very private and cozy!

Terrific Family Vacation Spot

Michele (Arlington, MA)
Review submitted: September 2, 2010   Date of arrival: August 22, 2010

Our family of five had a great week in this lovely cabin. It is clean, bright, well-stocked, and tastefully decorated. Our son thought his loft area was "cool" especially the private deck area upstairs. The views from the house are wonderful, particularly at sunset. The kids really enjoyed the beach, combing it daily for treasures of shells, snails, and crabs depending on what the tide had left behind. There is a fire pit which we enjoyed one night and then lay on the beach gazing at the stars. We brought a canoe along and used it every day on the water, even catching fish for dinner. It is a short drive to Acadia and we spent some good time there hiking and enjoying all the park has to offer. There are other local attractions in the area, such as the Great Maine Lumberjack show (lots of fun for a family night out) and many lobster stands to purchase fresh lobster to take with you or eat on the spot. The owner was quick to respond to inquiries and questions before we booked, and was a gracious host.
