Beautiful, relaxing home away from home

Review submitted: June 28, 2012   Date of arrival: June 10, 2012

This was exactly the kind of place we were dreaming about when we booked our first ever trip to Maine. We explored Lubec and Campobello, and we went of on Captain Andy's Bold Coast trip to Machias Seal Island, and all were within easy driving distance. The home was spacious and comfortable, and we could see bald eagles feeding in the Machias River as we sat on our front porch. We loved coming home to relax after a long day of exploring, and we would come back again in a heartbeat.

A Hidden Gem

Review submitted: August 15, 2011   Date of arrival: August 6, 2011

My son and I loved our time spent at the Wildflower Inn with my parents. We had the entire house to ourselves, as it is only rented to one contract at a time. There are two parking spots that go with the Inn. The owners are just across the driveway, as they own both properties. They have their own parking. Both were very helpful and friendly, but respected our privacy. The house was roomy, but cozy. The many windows let in loads of natural light. Everything was spotless when we arrived. Lots of towels and other linens were provided, as well as soaps and detergents. We did laundry every other day, as the machines are conveniently located off the kitchen. The kitchen itself had practically everything we needed appliance-wise with a nice large table at which to eat or relax. All the bedrooms were on the second floor. Food was a short drive away, including several local restaurants and a full supermarket. Not much was within walking distance, however. You can drive in any direction to sightsee in the many local down-east Maine towns, and as we were there in August, it was of course blueberry-picking season! Yummy! There are two lakes and a beach nearby, but it was too cold and rainy for us to take full advantage. We saw many cyclists in pairs and groups throughout the area while we traveled, and I would love to return to go on some nice bike rides. Immediately next door to the Inn’s owners’ house is a lovely small gift shop (the Glad House) that sells lobsters cheap. I can definitely see myself visiting the Wildflower Inn again.

The Perfect Little Vacation Home

Review submitted: September 5, 2008   Date of arrival: August 17, 2008

We stayed in this cute little home for a week and enjoyed every minute of it. Marjorie and Paul were perfect hostesses. They directed us to various tourist spots and just loved hearing about our daily adventures. Their home was spotless clean and had every single amenity you could wish for. The beds were very comfortable. The property was well maintained and I would not hesitate recommending it to others. We loved eating at Helen's just down the road. This property is a short drive from many tourist locations. We drove to Canada one day to Campobello. It was wonderful. Thanks for providing us with such a wonderful place to stay. Your friends from Utah, Idaho, and Montana.
