Activities and Attractions

Activities:  Andrea Thomas, owner of Donner Lake Cottage is a member
of Tahoe Donner Association, which is considered one of California’s
most inviting resort communities. This is 2 miles from the Donner 
Lake
Cottage and renters have access (for a small user fee)to all the
amenities.
Tahoe Donner is a resort for all seasons! Tahoe Donner encompasses
6,300 beautiful acres with majestic pines, clear running streams, and
the picturesque mountains of the High Sierras. Tahoe Donner has
dedicated a large portion of the resort’s property to greenbelts,
parks, streams, hiking trails, wilderness areas.

Tahoe Donner is a nature lover’s paradise. In addition to the
magnificent scenery and tranquility, the area offers year-round
recreational activities for every member of the family.

During the winter months Tahoe Donner provides a Downhill Ski Resort
with over 14 runs. Skiers will enjoy the wide, meticulously groomed
runs for virtually uninterrupted skiing! Tahoe Donner is one of
America’s premier “learn to ski” areas. A clubhouse at the base of 
the
ski hill furnishes a rental shop, lounge, and restaurant. Tahoe 
Donner
stresses family skiing and personal instruction. Not only does Tahoe
Donner offer great Alpine skiing, but also skiers will find some of
the best cross-country terrain of the Sierras in Tahoe Donner’s 
Nordic
Center. With its extensive trail system, Tahoe Donner is a hot spot

From the avid skier to the novice, Tahoe Donner provides some of the
best wintertime sports in the area!

One of the most popular activities of the area is hiking or mountain

permitted on these trials.

The spring is an ideal time to go horseback riding in the high 
Sierra.
Tahoe Donner’s Equestrian Center is a great discovery for the horse
enthusiast. With stables, pastures, riding ring, and over 30 miles of
trails, Tahoe Donner makes horse riders of all levels, from beginner
to expert, feel welcome.

If fishing is more your style you can launch your boat at Tahoe
Donner’s private homeowners boat ramp on nearby Donner Lake. Or you
could take advantage of any of the 5 large lakes, including Lake
Tahoe, which are within a 20-minute drive from your vacation home, or
fly fish the Truckee River or numerous streams of the surrounding 
high
country.

During the summer, Tahoe Donner’s Beach Club & Marina on nearby 
Donner
Lake gives its members access to a variety of water sports. Relax on
the sandy beach or have a picnic! If you desire a peaceful outing on
the water, canoes and sailboats are available to make your summer
complete.

For the golf enthusiast, Tahoe Donner features a challenging 6917-
yard
Championship Golf Course. Towering pines surround this beautifully
maintained 200-acre course. Tahoe Donner’s Golf Complex includes a
clubhouse, restaurant, and pro shop, lounge, with driving range and
chipping greens. Golf lessons are available.

Autumn is an excellent time to make use of the Trout Creek Fitness
Center Facility which features Jacuzzi, steam room, sauna, a fitness
room with strength and aerobic equipment, a heated lap pool open year
round, as well as an Olympic-size swimming pool. If you prefer, the
separate Northwoods Clubhouse facility also includes a large swimming
pool, play area for kids, badminton, volleyball, and Archery. The
Northwoods Restaurant features pub cuisine in a relaxing lounge.

The Tennis Complex presents 11 tennis courts in a country club 
setting
with frequent tournaments for players of all ages. Lessons for all
ages and abilities are available.
