Spring Break 2013

We had an absolutely great time at Pointe West and loved this condo! The pictures do not do it justice. There is plenty of room, a great kitchen, and very comfortable beds. The view from the huge balcony was perfect, and we spent every morning just watching the waves with our coffee. You will not find a better owner to rent from than Mark. He makes the process very easy, and will help in any way he can. We will definitely be returning for future visits to Galveston, and will look no further than Mark's condo for the best place to stay!

Owners response: The porch is my favorite for sunrise and sunset also! The sun positioning, view of the san luis pass and gulf, ocean scent, people watching, and the sounds of the waves makes for a perfect setting.

Our summer vacation!

First off I would like to give a huge thanks to Mark. He was very helpful and made the process of renting a breeze.

Here is my overview of our vacation.

Location:
Pointe West is located at the end of the island “prefect location” it is far enough away from the city of Galveston that you do not get all the light pollution and can star gaze, yet close enough to enjoy the sea wall and all the great places to shop and eat!

The condo:
The first thing I really liked was when you rent the condo you get a covered parking spot. This was great because it rained one of the days we were there. Mark also supplied us with a key so we could store our beach supplies in a cage in the parking garage. The condo is on the third floor and rather than having to carry our stuff up 3 flights of stairs we just used the elevator. The condo was way nicer than the pictures online made it seem. It was clean and furnished. The patio had 4 lounge chairs and a bar top table with 2 chairs. The bar top table was very nice to sit and enjoy the morning and evening sun. This condo has a prefect view of the gulf with no obstructions. Over all I would give the condo a 10 out of 10.

Pointe West:
This was not our first time to stay at Pointe West. The facility is very nice and the workers are very friendly. The bar and restaurant were not open when we stayed this time. I was told they are working to get them up and going before next season. We stayed the week of the 4th of July. The staff at Pointe West had daily activities for the children at the club house, and gave out snow cones. Our children loved it.

Mark and the renting process:
I contacted Mark a few months before our trip to plan our vacation. He was the most helpful and polite man I have ever rented from. Not only did he give us a great deal on the condo he suggested places for us to visit in Galveston. “Great call on the reservations at the Spot for the fireworks” we had the prefect seats! The transactions went flawlessly the deposit was refunded as promised. Members of my family have also stayed at Mark’s condo because of our experience with Mark and his great condo.

Overall if you’re looking for a relaxing affordable getaway to Galveston look no further this is the place to stay. In my option this place is 10 out of 10.

We will be renting from Mark for many years to come!

Relaxing Getaway!!!

Completely relaxing getaway! Even better than description provided. Excellent beachfront view which can be seen from living room, kitchen, and master bedroom. Large balcony with perfect breeze off the ocean. Nicely furnished thoughout. Kitchen is super nice for those who want to cook (especially if you want to save money by eating in!). Nice king size bed in master with nice master bath. Granite countertops, tile floors. Big shower in master. There is a second bedroom (and bath) with a twin bed and a bunk bed. Lots of room. Our 10 year old loved it! Living room is nicely furnished and has large flat screen TV. There is also a flat screen tv in both bedrooms. Basically anything you might forget at home, they had in the condo which was great. The owner even provides access to beach chairs, an umbrella, and other beach gear if you don't already have it with you!
The owner was very helpful with everything and was only a phone call away which we appreciated. I would highly recommend this vacation rental to anyone with a family (especially with older children 7+) because there is so much to do-- the ocean is only a short walk away (you do have to cross a wooden walking bridge to get to the actual beach), plus two nice pools to choose from when they want a change from the beach and sand. And, of course, the media access from TV to Wi-Fi in the condo helps if there happens to be a rainstorm. The only things we did not like was the distance you had to drive to get to a restaurant or major store. Also, the elevator was down several times during our visit, but was fixed promptly. Neither of these things would keep us from coming back again. We highly recommend this condo to anyone looking for relaxation and those trying to get away from the hussle and bussle of life for a while. We plan to come back very soon!!
