Perfect for a family

We stayed in this house during the latter part of May, 2011. The pictures of the home are accurate. The furnishings are modest and simple. The table and chairs have a rustic / "beach" look with some chips in the paint. Somehow it was adorable and seemed to fit perfectly. The entire house was certainly child-friendly. We had a two and four year old that had free rein of the house and we didn't have to worry about breaking something. I think the children liked being able to see out the main window onto the patio and sand, even at their low height. There was a fireplace in the main room, although we didn't use it. We had a "campfire" in our exclusive-use metal fire-pit on the sand each night, sometimes to roast hot-dogs, or marshmellows. We found wood available for sale in a nearby Slaters grocery store for a little under $8 a bundle. The configuration of the bedrooms seemed amusing at first. Four of the rooms interconnect with each other. That is... you can walk through one to get to another, then another, and then another. However, every bedroom in the house, except for one, has an exclusive exit door either to the outside or the short hallway. We put the two toddlers in the one room whose only exit is through one of two different rooms. This worked out fine for us. All of the adults had privacy with their own exit door. One room has a master bath. Another room has a master bath and is nearby to the washer and dryer. That master bath is very tiny, and is not recommended for people "of size". Everyone else shares a bathroom. There is a railroad track that is used quite a bit by VERY fast high-speed trains, most of which are two to four cars in length. By the time you notice it, it is gone. Once we realized that the multi-million door homes nearby hear the same train, we didn't care. (They are not too loud.) One mile away is a public beach park that has a decent full-sized basketball court adjacent to the sand with view of the ocean water a hundred feet away. I also saw at least one vollyball court on the sand. I did not explore the site any further as it cost $2 to park and I wanted to get back to the house. The surf was up the entire time we were there. The water is very close to the house. We did not boogie board very much due to gravel in the sand. Although a lot of the coastline was gravely, there were plenty of small patches of almost pure sand that children could play in. All in all, we had a very relaxing time. We'd rent again.
