Classic and fully renovated 1940's cottage, located just north of the Ritz Carlton in a neighborhood of upscale private homes. 

Our cottage offers private beach access located directly across the street.  Our cottage offers a very private wooded back yard with multiple tiered decks in a sunken forest environment. 

Our single story cottage is situated on a large oversized lot.  Ideal for those wishing to avoid climbing stairs, as there are no stairs to climb unless you choose to descend to the lower decks into the wooded back yard.  Private beach access is also constructed without steps.

Stay for an entire year for 1450 per month plus utilities.

Stay for as little as one month at rates that depend on the time of year you prefer to visit.  Fall and Winter rates are your best value, with Spring and Summer typically in higher demand.

Electric and Water utility costs apply to all stays of one month or longer.

Maid service (bi-weekly or monthly at 90/visit) selection available, and required for all stays of one month or longer.

Our home is located along a very upscale section of South Fletcher, in a neighborhood of approximately 80 homes used as second homes and private residences.  Only one short term rental home is located in our neighborhood, to the best of our knowledge, making it an ideal location for a longer term stay with quiet and private beach experiences.

A refundable damage deposit will be collected and held during your stay, refundable following cleaning and inspection following departure.

 BEFORE you inquire:  Please be aware that the City of Fernandina Beach has local ordinance that prohibits the rental of single-family homes for less than 28 day stays.  You can legally rent a condo or stay in a hotel for any stays in Fernandina Beach of less than 28 days.  If you are offered a home within the city limits of Fernandina Beach for less than 28 days, request the owner provide proof they have a special permit to rent their home.  Special permits were discontinued in 1999 - no new permits can be issued and only those homeowners that could prove they were charging and remitting the state sales taxes and city lodging taxes hold a 'grandfathered' permit. 

Be aware that most full time residents along the beach DO NOT LIKE short term rentals, and are known to frequently call the authorities to investigate homes that appear to be rented without a proper permit.  According to the newspaper, the POLICE are actively checking to see if short-term rental property is properly permitted, and the fines are significant if caught renting illegally. 

City Ordinance 2011-23, Section 26-101 (Resort Rental Permit) was amended on Nov. 15, 2011 and now requires

1) all advertising must include the city permit number (including on the internet)

2) annual permit renewal and annual inspection of home

3) valid permit must be displayed near the main entrance of the residence at all times

4) restricts parking - no parking in grass, on street or in bike path/road shoulder is allowed or you risk a ticket - make sure the home you rent has adequate parking!
