It's located on the edge of the village in a sparsely built up neighborhood. A town park with beach is a 10-minute walk. The home has two double beds, and the third bedroom can also be used as an office or reading room. There is a living room, dining room and full kitchen. There are views of Old Harbor Pond across the street from the porch, living room and front bedroom. The yard is landscaped with apple trees, a cherry tree, beach rose bushes, lilies, lilac, daffodils and peonies. If you visit in July or August, there will be raspberries and blackberries in the back yard that can be picked for your muffins or pancakes.

activities and attractions in Vinalhaven Maine
Vinalhaven is a scenic island fishing community with a year-round population of about 1,200. Getting there requires either taking 75-minute ferry cruise from Rockland or boarding a 10-minute charter plane from Owls Head. The island boasts 10 town parks, most with ocean views, some include hiking trails, fresh water quarry swimming, beach and picnic areas. In town there are take outs, bar/pubs, and very good restaurants, a Carnegie grant library with internet access, kayak and bike rentals, masseuse studios, historical society museum, many well-designed and maintained 1800's homes, galleries, a wine and cheese shop, grocery stores, and the Fisherman's Co-op where you can score some of the best tasting lobsters in the world. On summer nights there may be live music concerts, dances or theatre productions. Out of town you can visit the light house, arrange a day trip across the thoroughfare to North Haven Island - which has a golf course, or go on an ocean sightseeing charter. During the summer Rockland hosts a Blues Festival in July and a Lobster Festival in August that would make for exciting excursions from Vinalhaven.
