April in Casa Bella

Jimbo (Great Falls, VA.)
Review submitted: April 22, 2012   Date of arrival: March 29, 2012

We arrived at Casa Bella in late March with perfect weather, a beautiful villa with amazing views from the large windows, and the owners welcoming and helpful.

This is a great location for seeing the historic towns of Tuscany. Siena, Volterra, Montepulciano, as well as Pisa, San Gimignano, and Florence are easy day trips. We even returned back to the villa after seeing Venice before spending Easter in Rome.

On your way north from Rome, we recommend you exit the AI highway at Orvieto and take the S2 route to Siena. That road is majestic. Don't forget your camera!

The 3br, 2ba villa is a centuries old structure that has been carefully restored by the owner in true Tuscan style...beamed ceilings, tiled floors, archways with antique bricks. It is well equipped, tastefully decorated, spacious and very comfortable.

How fortunate we feel to have found this special spot and wish to return again.

Excellent stay at Casabella!

JanieL (Montreal, Quebec, Canada)
Review submitted: October 28, 2010   Date of arrival: October 9, 2010

Casabella was the perfect villa for our 1-week stay in Tuscany. The owners are extremely welcoming and made us feel comfortable immediately. The pictures on VacationRentals.com as well as the owner's web site are an accurate depiction of the villa. The views from the house and surrounding area are spectacular.

The house was clean and well stocked with everything we needed for our stay (towels, sheets, blankets, dishes, ...) The pool was still opened but it was too cold to use it during our stay. Make sure you ask where the firewood is if you're staying during some cold months, since the fireplace is perfect for those colder evenings.

The house is 5 minutes away from Rosia, a larger village with a very well stocked grocery store. A 15-minute drive outside of Siena, the villa was the perfect base for visiting many hill towns in Tuscany (Montereggioni, Montepulciano, Montalcino, Volterra, ...) The owners also provide some maps and information on their region. A car with a GPS was invaluable for us, but I can't comment on how easy it would be to get around without a car.

All in all, I would recommend this villa to families and groups interested in a clean and comfortable place to stay with all the amenities needed for self-catering. Casabella was a great home away from home!

Owners response: Thank you for reviewing Casabella! it was great to have you as our guests, hopefully you will be back sometime in the future.

Best regards
